    BBQ today

  2. Thanks for all the advice ;) Thia has put my mind at rest. As I said he is getting plenty of road work and i clip his nails on a regular basis, have also bought a file to file them aswell. Thanks again DEKA
  3. This is the problem. One of my lurchers toe nails grow fast as feck(front ones only) the back ones are ok. My dogs get a least 1 hour each every day road walking. I have no problem with my other lurcher(his nails are transparent)The problem nails are the ones on the outer and inner of his front paws. The ones on the two middle toes grow to a point, but the ones on the inner and outside grow the same thickness all the way down. I cant see where the quick is in his nails as they are black, im a little bit nervous when cutting his nails incase i go to far down. Tried shining a touch through them,
  4. Use hand alot with my dogs(stealth tactics), if i am mooching on land that has got plenty of hedge rows/ditches i am able to direct the terrier where i want her to go and direct the lurchers on either side of the hedge/ditch. Still use voice commands mainly to recall dogs.
  5. Out early this morning for a good three hours or so. Not many bunnies around but seen a few of these :icon_eek: Also terrier flushed a fox from some brambles which had a very lucky escape :whistling: Any way here is a few more pics Will have to get Jeeves to trim them bushes :clapper: No pics of the terrier little fecker wont stop still long enough

  7. Had this problem with my Black Lurcher  This is some of the things i did and it has cured the problem. Diet : RAW minced and whole chicken carcass, tripe minced and chunks, rabbits roughly chopped(for some reason he wont entertain them whole) tin of mackerel once a week, vegetable oil and SA37 with every feed. Regular worming and fleaing. Also bath him twice a year with Tesco own brand anti-dandruff shampoo(cheaper than Head and Shoulders) One other thing i forgot to mention the amounts i feed him are 3% of his body weight. Hope this helps

  20. Just an update on my young dog. Coming on really well. jumping, retrieves live to hand. Tried him out again on the lamp for the second time. Seen a squatter right out in the open so walked slowly up to it, the dog was looking everywhere but not on the bunny. When it lifted he was straight onto it 4 or 5 turns and he nailed it :clapper: and brought it back to hand :D Some how during this run i lost his slip lead anyway was happy with his performance so headed back to the car. Thought i would have a quick shine in the last field before the car. There was a bunny sitting right out in the o
  21. This is the first time i have had him out on the lamp. I run him day time with my other running dog, so the answer to your question is yes.
  22. Took my young dog(14 months) out for the first time lamping last night. Have put a lot of time and effort into this dog so i was hoping he would do ok. I slipped him 5 times missed 4 and got one and brought it back to hand :D As long as he caught 1 i was pleased. Still yaps sometimes when he is on his quarry but im thinking this is down to excitement
