Then for me it wouldn't be worth using the dog as a stud.....a few of my mates have said a half cross mali/grey are an ugly dog and if I'm honest I don't care what they look like as long as they do what I ask in the field.....

I'm not saying that a,working lurcher should be thousands of pounds..but you'll pay £500 for a gsd pup that's no use for anything....my Mali bitch will be having a litter in the summer and the pups will be sold for the price of rearing them BUT they will only be going to lads,that will work and give an honest appraisal of there ability...

Max I'm not saying a running dog should be 6k but what I'm saying is the dogs should have some value for the work that goes into them....these dogs are highly bred and designed to do a hard and dangerous job....my bitch will be having a litter in the summer anf the pups will be offered to a select few lads on hear for what it costs me to rear them..but ill be dammed if they will be going to lads that can't put the work infront of the dogs or the skills to train them....

The hole problem with the so called lurchet game is the dogs are worthless ...we've just picked up a 3 year Wheaton/grey x deer/grey. It jumps.has stunning obiedence..takes deer single handed..day time hare..lamps like a pro retreves live to hand (we will be only lamping rabbits and a companion dog) it cost £200 and £60 in fuel to fetch it.....its a joke....the sooner the prices go up the better...it will get rid of all the giro junkies buying.running the guts out and dumping dogs in the pound..an equivalent ppd would be 6k so these dogs are well looked after and respected...

Iv put thousands of shots down range with rifles and always done well..iv sold up to move house and get sorted...I'm using a decent quality air rifle atm and I'm bloody usless with the dam thing...

A mates a farrier and he's looking for a lamping dog (rabbit only) it will be with him all day while he's working so it will have to be happy mouching about with him off lead while he's shoeing...he's happy to pay a fair price for a dog but we will want to see the dog work on the lamp...not after a world beater just an honest knock about sort of lurcher....

I'm only going off the pics of your dog being baited hear.....if your only training with a sleeve it will/could be sleeve pissed...so the dog will only go for your right arm (as do police dogs)....travellers will and do rap news papers round there arm put a heavy jacket on and the present there arm for the dog...once the dog bites its very easy to clip a lead onto the dog or do worse things with a hammer......having a dog that's been baited can be its own werst enamy because there predicable.......if your into your sport dogs the next stage is a bite suit and to teach the dog to to recognise

Iv used lowas as a patrol boot and they last...if you look on eBay for HAIX there the same boot but people haven't clicked on...I payed £30 for a new pair...

She's a baby....this is just one piece of the puzzle....your dog has a long journey ahead....increase prey drive..then she will mouth it then your onto retreave training......small steps......

Tie a piece of string to it and when she goes upto it pull it away..........don't do it for very long.....couple of mins a day......I use rubber rings for drive building....throw the rings so they land end on and roll when they fall flat the prey item (rings) are dead and the dog looses interest...same thing with your rabbit skin.....

A dog will give you a reason and meaning.....the dog pounds are full of workers....it Mau take a few visits to find a dog that will fit with you but it may be a cool thing to do for a rescue and yourself......
