    Iv three at the moment....working gsd...9 month old lurcher pup and punk the Mali.....I wouldnt have anything to run this season so the Mali is the lamping dog.....quite serprised at her on bunnies....

    Iv been down to one and had a four....as strict as you promise you will be you will always favour one dog over the rest...the others won't get 100% of your attention so will suffer......I'd love one dog that does it all ..BUT if you get an injury and only have one dog your potentialy out for the season....

    Two years ago I used to go out on the lamp with a lad that had a leggy staffy and it would jump five bar gates and caught 60% of what it ran down the beam at...I was amazed....no use on golf coarses but did ok to be fare to it.....never made a video of it but it did catch

    100 in a night is some running......there's maybe a handful of dogs that could even half of that...there's a lot of bull dust spoken on these sites......what numbers were taken in the lamping comp a few years ago?? That was documented and witnessed.....

    Lol not one of ya mentioned how many you've caught?? If you keep running a dog and it don't catch its gunna jack or yap....mate if you've been out the previous night and your dog hasn't caught because of the conditions wait till the ground dries up........iv just had 4 hours out with the Mali and done ok.......

    That's such an open question...running what...anything that covers the ban can't be mentioned because everyone obays the law...there's some great dogs out there and the lads that own em don't use computers... But ill sit back and watch the arguments because threads like this always inspire a healthy debate lol

    Who knows...if its a dog he's bought in and maybe the pups are from his own line.......didn't seem a bad advert......at the end of the day lurchets have and will always be swapped.sold.dumped.gifted we ain't ever gunna change it.....the only thing to do is tray ya dogs well for Aslong as there in your Care...give it another few months and there will be loads for sale because the seasons at an end and people don't want to feed an idol dog through summer.....good luck for tonight

    I had a free dog off earth & hounds many years ago wouldn't do teeth or horn didn't do squaters or jump...BUT what he did is get me back into lurchers and lamping and for that I recon he was a pleasure to work

    I had a pair that I wore every day n they lasted nearly 5 years...had the same model but newer version to replace em and they aren't as good they've last two year so far but the soul is showing early signs of coming unglued...

    Yeh iv had four lions in a night on the lamp with me bull x...single handed over run with the feckers in Shropshire lol

    22lr is fine to shoot...laser accurate when zeroed at 50 yards what more do you want at night...you will mostly be seeing rabbits..and really cheap to run.quite... 17 hmr. Loud even with a jet z mod....two or three times the price to run than a 22lr....more fun because they have better range..effected by wind at the extremes of range.... I can't remember the calibre between the the 22 and 17 hmr but iv shot it a lot and again it was fun Another valid point is ricochet.....iv had it with 22 subs off a rabbit's head...not had it with the hmr...

    By us 22lr isn't a fox round as far as our fao see's it....over the years I'd say 22lr has despatched more foxs than any other calibee..:..
