I wear a Carhartt hooded canvas jacket, the hood is lined to keep you warm and is great for protecting my bald head under hedges!I wear the thin builder type gloves with the rubber coated palms and have had no problems with ferrets trying to bite me.

I have been evening ferreting over the last few weeks with no problems, here are a few tips.pick you warrens, not too much cover, open warrens are perfect.White ferrets are easier to see if it gets dark,i use dayglow yellow collars on mine, but glowlights or cheap flashing lights for cat collars are available from pet shops.Bright nets are easier to pick up,the dayglow yellow twine from Agouti is the brightest i have seen.If there are still young rabbits about smaller meshed nets will be needed to catch them.Take water for ferrets/dogs,its still very warm for them both yet and consider a better ve

I take the draw cords out of mine and wash them in a pillow case at the end of the season,Agouti taught me this trick.A bit of vanish stain remover to soak them in and your nets will come out like new.

I have been out a couple of evenings this week, take a drink for the ferrets if you do though, and a cat basket will keep them cooler than a ferret box.

I have never been able to find suitable grommets for 9.5mm poles, all the ones i found only have a small groove not big enough for running line, you may just have to stick to the lambing rings.

Just get in touch with Agouti, his nets are hard to beat, mine are 4Ft tapered out to 18 meshes,Lay well, catch well and look like new after a go in the washing machine at the end of the season.Yellow is nice and bright,we had some of his dayglow yellow out the other evening and the darker is got the brighter it stands out,,super stuff, give him a call and he will advice you,his netmaking videos are on youtube.

Everyone has different ideas on what chicken mesh is,what size are the mesh???One tip,i have just put a nylon mesh screen over my breeding hutch, they are made to fit on doors to keep flies out of your house, cost a fiver just fine nylon netting, but it is keeping the flies out of the hutch really well.I normally use 1" square mesh on my hutch a bit of overkill, but it keeps strong hobs in and unfriendly dogs out.

What Pellet, Weirhauch HW100S?
michael flatters replied to Gaoler's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Its up to you Buddy,But what i would do is take 50 or so shots with them before you do a test group, mine starts off like a shotgun when you change make of pellet, but settles down after a few mags. You could easily miss a good make of pellet if you dont do that. -
What Pellet, Weirhauch HW100S?
michael flatters replied to Gaoler's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
JSB exact are the best in my ~HW100,but all pellets will pass through on headshots unless shot at stupidly long distances. -
I have owned quite a few PCPs now but my HW100KT is the sweetest handling gun i have owned,i cannot fault it,the build quality is excellent.I bought mine after shooting targets at home, standing shots,me with a AA S200 and my friend with his HW100KT,after a bit we swapped guns and instantly i was hitting more targets, both accurate guns, but the HW handling is so much better for me.As a hunter most of my shots are standing so any help i can get is good.

rabbit's & pigeons with a .22 air rifle
michael flatters replied to adam scott's topic in Airgun Hunting
Well done Adam,my best night is about 50 rabbits from the quad with the HW100KT Normal lamping on foot is about 6 to 12 rabbits, too damn heavy!!! -
No need to drill you stock, get a swivel to replace your front stud, they work a treat.

I have got one from Magnum nets, nicely made and thickly powder coated which does seem to make them a bit quieter.

i use one,if you are going to make one it is better with a bulb on the end to help let you know when you have pushed through, slip a nut over the end of your bar, weld it on and then grind it round with a blunt point on,job done.

camouflaging my rifle.
michael flatters replied to aaronpigeonplucker's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips

i have the same one and love it,quality throughout and super handling,i found jsb exact to be the best through mine.

I made one out of two sticks and some rubber tube for standing shots, took it out for a days shooting, but i got fed up of carrying it and threw it in the hedge halfway through the day.

I went out in the snow this afternoon with the Air Ranger, the dogs and my new gloves, they seemed fine lovely and warm and i did not bother to fold back the trigger finger as it was thin enough to shoot with it on.Im not sure on the price as they were a gift, check online.
-
Perfect, snow on the ground and my new Sealskin shooting gloves arrive in the post, not bad leather type palms and warm slightly padded backs, only one slight problem they have a fold back trigger finger for left or right handed shooters, but i would love a fold back forefinger for hold pellets. They will be fine with the multishot, but may be a pain with the break barrel, nicely made waterproof glove though.

Shocked this afternoon,i have had my new Theoben Evolution in.22 for a few months now, must have put about 700 pellets through it,well put it on the chronograph today and it was only running at 6 1/2 pounds!!!No wonder the Bisley magnums were going like bricks through it!!!I know companys set guns safely under 12 ft/lbs,but that is just poor.pumped it up to 11 1/2 but she is dieseling like a pig now, first time its done any proper work,i will have to run some through it until it settles down and chronograph it again!
