hello mate, i hada a similiar problem about 12years ago both of my pats balls didnt drop but you could feel them still up there went to 2 vets to see if they could one said had to castrate him the other which is now my permanent vet said that i didnt have to but i would have to keep an eye on them and if they changed in size shape etc i would have to take him in to have em off. Luckily nothing has happened so far and he is coming up 12 yrs old and still working. If i was you i would just keep an eye on them and take it from there rgds Adam

As pack leader you have to tell the dogs that the summer is yours and to stop fighting over it sounds like the dogs are bored and need stimulating throughout the day take em out bushing or something and should cut down on their excess energy

Firstly would need to know what type of poison, would also need to know the dogs in question are they prone to eating anything and everything, if the posion is outside if should be a a proper container so dogs cant get it!!! If after the session the dogs looked a bit ill all it takes is a vitamin K1 injesction, which you can get from the chemist to sort the dog out. The main thing is knowing your own dogs would they eat something that has a chemical that makes it taste really bitter? Adam

whats all this about is there anyway to change it back to the way it was?

no you wouldnt. see what you mean about the confusion though as i am finding it hard with this new format of the forum

i disagree there is a difference in shape signs around the hole etc, although a fox will lay up in a badger hole as they are lazy diggers rarely will you get a badger in a fox hole. so i think it is important to know what a badger hole looks like so as to avoid and not to break the law... Adam

Please elaborate for me in any way shape or forum is that a stupid statement? Have you ever had or seen a fox terrier in action? They will glue just about anything and as slip said they ar keen iv seen a small wired haired fox terrier bitch IKC reg (showen till she was 15mths then got to hard to handle in the ring so a buddy a mine got her) in action a few times when she would enter you would want to move out of the lads way who owned her because he had to dig like a jcb to get to her asap because she was so hard she would go in and just mangle so you wouldnt want to be waiting around or else

Firstly you have to ask yourself why are they not suitable for earth work, the purpose for which they were originally bred? secondly from what you have stated that they are killing above ground does not mean a lot (IMO) as any type of dog could kill an animal above ground for many reasons including terroritorial or just aggression much the same as dogs kill cats. with regards to genetics IMO you will get the odd dog that may show some interest in working simple maths but the more you bred show to show the more you dilute their working ability and the less likely you will have a working dog

Might be an idea to put a link up so people can vote

to dock or not to dock that is the question
adam replied to jackthedog's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
dock espically if you are going to use the dog in cover also in my opinion they dont look right just my opinion tho -
hope you get him back but be aware that the rspca know what that collar is for and would probably not let any one know that they have the dog. just hope that the police or dog warden get it first. Good Luck Adam

so does your dog or dogs leave the quarry and come out? what yu getting so worked up about, what if you are protecting game birds and the keeper does not want any earths on his property and you have to destroy each earth you work? are you saying you wouldnt do as the keeper wanted? every bit of land has different requirements, not saying that this is the case in this instance but we dont know do we!

surprised you didnt get more of a glare of that second pic

Swan If your gonna get one make sure you get one from a puppy so you can bring it on right to be around kids, the problems normally come when someone brings in an adult dog that has not been socialised with children.
