  2. Quite agree with that .Only seen one plummer Type that worked to ground well and that was a x bred one .Seem to do what they were bred for and that was ratting .Mostly seen highly strung ones .Do not apeal to me at all .Horses for courses I ve only ever seen 1 and that was at a show,Donny do you reckon they are any better at ratting than other breeds? No not really ,I think most terriers can be adept at ratting depends how much they get to do like all work.Just not my type of terrier. Some love them others despise them .I just dont think of them I had a plummer X going back about
  3. Patman- I agree the little shit should have had a slap for that. I certainly wont be putting my dog in a wheelie bin. Think il be taking the older dog down after the mink and just let the pup have a look and see what its all about. The mink certainly wont be too much for my older dog!
  4. Ye Stevo, big dog fox! One less to worry about with lambing season not too far away!
  5. This is the father of the pup and a damn fine dog. Hes 9 years old now and has had to take the back seat over the last few years because hes basically worked himself into the ground (pardon the pun!!) I havent worked him for a couple of years due to one thing and another...but I put him out to stud back in April and got a pup off him as payment and he's produced a cracker! Having the pup now has given me the appetite to get back out working the terriers again and doing what they do best. Heres the pup, a right handful at the moment, he'l be 7 months next week. I had him and the old man out la
  6. Beddiwhuppet- when you upload your pictures onto your computer and then open them in Office Picture Manager, click on the 'Picture' tab at the top of the screen and select 'Resize'...I resize my pictures to 648 x 486 pixels. This allows me to get about 6 pictures up. Hope this helps!?? All the best
  7. Heres a few photos of a small farmer gun pack that we run in the hills of mid wales...6 couples comprising of 4 english foxhounds and 8 beagles. We were out the weekend in possibly the coldest easterly wind Ive ever experienced (think there may be snow in the air!). Were not a very big pack, but are in demand from the local farmers! Started the day off by walking the rough hill which consists of gorse, feg and rushes, and picked the trail up early which did not come to much until the hounds managed to take it off the cold and windy hill and into the shelter of the wood. The scent was pretty goo
  8. It must have been shot at from a distance, because even with a number 6 cartridge, the amount of shots (6 you say) into a small dog would have killed it stone dead (one to the chest and one to the head!)! One tough dog otherwise to take 6 shots and still be alive!!
  9. Thats a hell of a day...keep up the good work!! ive got a 6 month old Patt and thinking of getting him on the rats now...what sort of cover would you say is best to find a decent amount of rats??

  15. Great Pics...beagles look in amazing condition!! Weve got a pack of 12 beagles and they are solely on fox (with the exception of 1 who will go on the occassional hare). They have been flying the past few weeks, the scent has been outstanding and the pace has been unbelievable! Excellent working dog!! Happy hunting!
