  3. We started our pack 15 years ago, with 5 beagles and let me say it was some of the best hunting ever! Today we have a pack split 50/50 between Welsh hounds and beagles and the balance is perfect. Our beagles are a size that they can keep up with the Welsh hounds, but also ideal size for tight cover. We hunt some exceptionally tight pieces at times and this is when the beagles come into their own. The music from them is amazing also, and the sound of Welsh hounds and beagles in full cry make the hair stand on my neck just thinking of it!
  4. I have not posted on here for a long time, but I have to say a few words about my Dad who passed away on a hunt on Christmas Eve. My Dad, Alun Rowlands but Nigel to his mates, was and still is the most loyal, genuine and kind hearted person I have ever known. He passed away on Christmas Eve whilst doing the thing he absolutely loved, on par with the love he had for his family......hunting his hounds!! Family, Friends and Hunting were his life!!! He was 60 years of age and hunted all his life. We have a Farming Pack consisting of 20 hounds and his passion was going out on a Sunday with

  9. Well if we all use our vote wisely on May 6th, this stupid law won't come into existence. It's another example of this Communist Government trying to control the majority because of the actions of the minority. Time and time again we see laws for this and that being brought out, only because the low life of this country don't know how to behave. Labour call themselves the party for main stream Britain, but all they have done is widen the inequality gap and made it even harder for working people to get on in life. They have created a welfare state that makes life more comfortable to be sat on yo

  13. Try highlandhorn.com. I was told about this site yesterday.
  14. Cheers mate. Both recommended sites have some decent stuff. Highland Horn looks like it has some pretty smart stuff to work with. I'm a complete novice and interested in giving it a go.
  15. Anyone know of any companies/people who supply ram hooks, stag horns and other types of hooks/horns? Im looking at making my own sticks and need suppliers of the raw materials. Cheers

  17. Same here mate. Off out with our pack. Ain't been out for 3 weeks due to bloody weather. Can't wait!! Hopefully get some pics up too!
  18. I think that a pack of mink hounds will more often than not be made up of different types, the Welsh,English,Harriers and Otterhounds.Theres probably a few hunts around who use just welsh as theres some that use the other breeds to...yis John One of the local packs near us have Welsh Hounds and they had one hell of a run the other week. They were a fair few miles away from where our kennels are located and they ended up running past our kennels. They crossed the railway line and main road. They have had some unreal hunts in the past, and have covered some serious distances!!The best houn
  19. Are you sure you were hunting with Welsh Hounds?? I know it's your opinion, but we hunt with a couple of welsh hounds in our pack and they are awsome and we intend to rear off the bitch once the time is right!! I have never known a Welsh hound not to enter, and as far as committed, they have hearts of lions and push themselves and their quarry to the end. In all the time I have been hunting, the Welsh hound out performs any other hound out there.
  20. Good news mate, always nice when they turn up!!
  21. Thanks fella they can travel for miles around our area JB We have the same problem at times. Atleast with this bad weather, it's more than likely to attract to a property sooner looking for shelter and food and reduce the distance it will travel. all the best finding it, let us know how you get on!?
  22. Mid Wales. Terrier is in the bottom snap having worked the gorse really well. Having walked the hills extensively during this heavy snowy period, I personally believe the open hills have some of the best cover for any quarry. The amount of track and dens I came across was unreal, and all the gorse has turned into igloos providing really good shelter. More heavy snow on the way so the met office predicts!? Happy Hunting!!
  23. Went out for a few walks over the xmas period with the terrier and camera and here are a few pics of our hunting ground. The picture of the log pile is where I bolted a fox out of...unfortunately wasn't quite quick enough to get a snap of the fox bolting. Hope you enjoy
