Just cleard a path a Quarter of the way down the bank, its pretty steep in some places, so doing a bit of engineering to make it walkable! Would get photos up if I new how Its air rifle heaven!! Plenty of greys to get rid of at the moment, but ive already seen quite a few Water Voles, and wanna keep em

wondered if you could help Just bought a an old mill house with approximately 1 mile of water course and bank, my section is completely untoutched, full of small trout, nesting ducks and plenty of water voles. A good few miles down stream there is a large res, where im told mink have been seen - so i would have thought at some point im gonna get em coming up. Planninng ahead, whats the best prevention or cure when/if they come. Got a number of fen and cage traps for rats, plus terriers, shotgun, air rile etc. Is it a case of pre-baiting an area and waiting woth the gun? Looking for the

Do it quite often on our flat fields, brother on back of the van and a mate or me driving like fu*ck with the lights on full beam, get about 20 or so a night - obviously cant do it week in week out, but its good fun.

Franco My visit from the local plod was all based on health and safety, and they did ask the question how far you think shot will go, what would you do if a cartridge didnt fire etc - didnt even check the cabinet. Be careful if you have previous convictions mate as they will check

Depends what the owner of the club wanted the bouncers to do! If you here the lads on the commentry they say the black bloke was ccausing trouble the week before Worse one i heard of was in my home town, lad kicking off in a bar, bouncers throw him out. end of the night the lad comes back, the bouncers who were proper thugs took him outside to give him a kicking - he ended up falling bad and dying, the twist was that this wasnt the lad that they had origionaly thrown out -- it was his twin brother

cheers macnas very interesting thanks again Got a single barrelled 4.10, folds in half same as yours. Passed down from my grandad who kept telling me that it was a poachers gun as it just fits nicely in the inside pocket of a wax jacket. It hasnt got any markings on, but for some reason im sure he said it was belgium make Always remeber him taking me out with it in the van just tucked in between the seats then knocking pheasants over from the van window and telling me to fetch them while he kept the engine runnig. Could never understand why he didnt want anyone to see us

She'll do it naturaly mate, start her off on mice then move her on to rats. Another terrier along for the ride usually helps. Some people use live traps to bring their young ones on, but that would be illegal (ithink) Youll find rats, anywhere there are humans, animals, food etc Enjoy it mate, you cant beat a good afternoon ratting

I was out the other week for a mooch with the shotgun, my patt terrier was digging away at a mouse hole at the side of the field, so decided to leave him to it have a stalk up the hedge side and try and get a shot at some rabbits sat out in the field. Long story short, got back to where id left him and no sign, shouting for ages, was getting dark and my mouth was begining to go dry with worry, then all of a sudden I turned round and the little sod was stood by my feet, covered in soil. No idea where he had been!

Just picked up my first lurcher. Shes got grey, whippet and bedlington in her. 9 and a half weeks at the mo. Only ever had terriers, so just wondered if there is any general advice from any one

Probably the best fight ever. set at the docklands-atmosphere was intense. Turn up the volume and listen to the soundtrack as well. Feel sorry for Mclellen tho http://youtube.com/watch?v=CHj95sZQjSM&sea...%20nigel%20benn

I'll do it, as I enjoy doing it. Hopefully he will change his mind, if he dont he will be the biggest hypocrit going. I could always serve his missus a portion

With all insects and bugs, I too try to get them out safely, but purposely keeping a wasp indoors is just silly in my opinion. Spiders however, have a free roam of my house as far as I'm concerned, it's the bunny hugging disneyfied wife they have to watch out for . The funniest thing was when they got 12 years inside Dont bend over lads Bubbers got a hard one with your name on it

Thought id share this.. Year or so ago the new neighbours moved in and I notice a anti hunting sticker in the window. They seemed fair enough and as long as they didnt interfear then they are entitled to their opinion. The other month I was coming back with the terriers and was talking to the old bloke at the top of the lane, ive known him a while and use to be a farmer, we were just having a disscusion about working dogs and the amount of rats he would get when they where threshing in corn. Anyhows, long story short, Anti comes up freindly and shows strong disgust in what we did, it was c

What do you do when your dogs get a tick? He had two, one dropped off this moning but hes still got one on the back of his head. Ive heard that if you pull them out and leave the head in that it can go septic? Is it worth trying with tweezers or is it best to go to the vets? They dont seem to bother him, but wondered if they can spread disease, ie limes diease Any help appreciated

Dont think the National Trust do pest control. Bird feeding areas in Clumber Park, for the Derbyshire ratters - full on em
-
Just have a mooch about where you live, most places where livestock are kept/fed will hold em. Supermarket carparks are good after dark, bird feeding area in parks and round takeaway bins ive found them. One of my favourites is at the back of a certain junction off the M1, heaving with em

Nope, one of my patts is the same, annoys the fecking hell out of me

If its a family dog, and your missus will kill ya if any harms comes to it I personally wouldnt bother entering it. Get yourself a shotgun or running dog and do a bit of bush work with it, few scratches wont hurt. Bit of ratting is always good, although my patt got bit last week and the better half wasnt too impressed :realmad: 'Couldnt stop him love, you know what hes like

Thanks for the pictures Marco, shown em to the missus and shes sold on the idea

Couldnt believe it myself, it was me old man that got a call from the next doors farm as his dogs are kept on a bit of our farm. The bloke had picked it off the road and put in the shed. When my dad turned up it was lively as owt, wanting fuus and jumping about . Remarkable really
