  1. what you gonna call it ??? How about -"DISH THE DIRT AND STAND WELL BACK" No offence J.D
  2. He laid her on the table,so white,so clean and bare. His forehead wet with beads of sweat, he rubbed her here and there. He touched her neck and then her breast and drooling touched her thigh. The slit was wet and all was set,he gave a jouyous cry . The hole was wide, he looked inside, all was dark and murky. He rubbed his hands and stretched his arms and then he stuffed the turkey. May I be the first to wish you all a very ,merry Christmas and good hunting throughout the new year. Foxdropper.
  3. Excellent pics mate, the digging shots arnt bad either :11:
  4. First class replie mate.Been reading this for a while and I cant believe how narrow minded some people are? ANY breed of dog can turn nasty if not properly socialised. Im not knocking any breed of lurcher for foxing but I will say Ive seen some lads with so called foxdogs whose lurchers hold a fox until the lads run in for the kill. This to me is not exceptable ,I like a dog to kill a fox single handed and for a well entered bullX this is thier fortae, what they excell at.Yes they are bred from some very hard aggressive stuff but when channelled into the right moment through careful entering ,
  5. AT WHAT POINT DO YOU BECOME NUV NO MATES. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I dunno...I guess when you become Mr. No-dog...Surely you should be called 'Dog-dropper'. You didn't answer the question though matey...you wait 24hrs before you instigate a rescue...? You happy with that then...? Nice... Nuv-AT what point do I mention leaving the dog for 24 hours. The call was made as soon as I realised I could be in trouble and that was when the dog disappeared into an unknown goil, which at one point in its length was an estimated 30m below ground[if it ran straight to the lake] Wouldnt
  6. If its only the one shotgun you wish to buy then go for one of the cheaper multichokes.Lanber sporter at £475 new!.
  7. In areas lit by street lights ,robins dont seem to sleep round us. Always a pleasure to see the barn owl hovering in the lamp. These are making a come back around us.
  8. Excellent thought mate.I know I would attend if asked to. The place I nearly came unstuck has long since been dug up as its still a working quarry.Incidentally, shortly after my mishap a lad lost a terrior there and they found it 2 days later ,drowned in one of the many lakes created by the quarrying. The lake however was nowhere near the terriers point of entry so how it got there is speculation. On the plus side ,this place holds a lot of foxes and we did manage 4 successful digs in some natural earths before these too were dug up in the name of progress. The majority of this place is now a
  9. Cheers lads.Im compiling a list of people to pm . :11: :11:
  10. Just interested to know who would put themselves out to help rescue a terrier.I was reading an account of a fell and moorland rescue in an old book today and wondered if the situation arose with someone we knew ,or didnt ,how many could honestly say they would risk a bollicking from her in doors to attend a rescue at any time of day or night.I for one am indepted to a couple of mates who helped me find a terrier I lost out walking around our local tip.Id heard a few foxes got around this place so the obvious thing to do was check it out.I was walking over the sand pits which created the landfi
  11. Rapid 7 mk 1 is the dogs wotsits for me ,with the added bonus that its easy to whack up way beyond 12ft/sec.On a firearms of course!.
  12. Apparently all the wild species of dog do this, vet says its a necessary thing to maintain a good coat. Its only us that find it disgusting. In the wild ,a dog would move to another den when it got too bad.
  13. Mucker-this is a very relavent question.I had problems with dogs pissing the bed area so I narrowed the sleeping area down with a board. Now the dogs have to move forward to piss. This smaller area is also easier to keep warm!.
  14. A good example of how threads get diverted onto meanningless drivvle! :11: :11: Pre locator days must have been heavy on casualties of terriers.Im told the badger digs on faster than a man in sandy soil, and so many terriers trying to follow would have been buried alive.Terriers were chosen for voice as much as gameness, which today has to an extent been overlooked,as now mute ,game dogs can be dug to. Wonder what parson jack would have thought of that ! By the way Ian B,nice snow!!!!!!.
  15. I hear Frain is a very talented artist also..... . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I see my thoughts have been vindicated by the very brief review afforded Mr Frains latest offering (via this weeks Shooting Times), that being, "Rabbiting with Dog, Gun, Hawk, Ferret, Hound, Lawnmower, Strimmer, Smoker, Toaster et al". And I quote; "It's a little utilitarian" and "a bit text book" and it's "replete with poorly focused black and white photographs" . I rest my case. Buy it at your peril! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> quality pisstake mate, rats dont stand a chance with that lot i
  16. Not used this particular model but the ones I have used only have a decent beam strength for just over an hour.Only good like darcy said, for short trips away from the vehicle!.
  17. Have any of you lads or lasses that walk at night ,noticed how much more vocal the tawny is when its a frost? Had 1 or 2 nearly land on me in the passed when Ive been squeaking foxes .
  18. 45 ferretted 4years ago, excellent ferretting,no hedgework,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, justholes in sandy pasture. ps sandy pasture is not a womens name! :11:
  19. Pigeon magnets are like anything else ,great where the birds havnt seen one.Weve had more success recently with the rotary turned off and let the birds float up and down with the breeze. The decoy patern around the magnet has to be right with any wind.I find its best to face the decoys slightly into the wind, but not regimental, and leave a good open space on the downwind side of the magnet.Incoming birds need somewhere to land and prefer to land within a feeding flock{safety in numbers thing]Hopefully providing sport before they land!
  20. Jack-If you are dead set on a plummer, same rules apply as with choosing any other pup,get one from WORKING parents.
  21. :11: :11: :11: :11: :11:
  22. A situation happened last night which Im not sure of the legal position . I was supposed to meet a lad to go lamping with but he phoned me last minute and cried off because of the rain? Our method of lamping this particular farm is to take the 222 and the lurcher.Obviously this needs 2 people ,1 to hold the dog on slip and the other to shoot. The lad with the lurcher does the lamping.Fox control was the reason for the visit. I decided on a walk round on my own with the rifle but found Id forgot the lamp to rifle attachment. Anyway ,carried on round with the lamp and rifle, got 2 fields away a
  23. Jack- on the subject of books to gain info from remember this-its only ever one mans opinion{unless your readig something by DBP].Read several books and take on board the infomation that suits you.You should have a spell out with some digging lads first to see if its really what you thought it was.
