  1. Sorry for my lack of legal knowledge .Some years ago ,I looked into the sport and was told by our local stockist that this would happen .I never pursued the sport on this advice .Just goes to show that you cant trust many peoples word .Might be interested again now .Sorry again.
  2. A good vet would tell you the truth-Kennel cough is a virus and therefore not treatable .It has to run its course and is very infectious during the first week.It lasts for roughly 2 weeks and was no doubt transfered to you from contact with other dogs either in the early stages or full blown .No antibiotics will affect it either way.The usual thing is to keep them in and avoid passing it on .
  3. Anybody name the 4 types of crab seen here .?.
  4. Ian- Dont know the extent of your trapping experience mate but if you want the trap to appear natural, only want to use natural materials and would rather people didnt find the trap then heres what I do -Lift the turf from your chosen trapping site and put to one side.Find 4 logs about 3' long and lay 2 side by side about 6" apart inside the dig out .Cut some pegs about 18" long and push them in either side the logs to hold them in position .Place the other 2 logs on top the other 2 ,creating a height of about 8".With more logs [short] cover the top placing them at 90 degrees to the bottem log
  5. They will send you any amount of bows mate ,but the hunting arrows or heads will be stopped in customs [if its the u.k]Crossbows are a waste of time too. Like Darcy said the ones available to us in the u.k are very poor ,even the rhino version .
  6. Quality mate ,keep the pics coming .Great to see how its done elsewhere.
  7. Caught these fellows as part of a 258 bucket full. The night shots were taken the evening before the personal record catch.Me and the 2 kids caught them on squid in 3 hours!.All crabs were treated with respect ,water changed regular and all returned alive.
  8. Couple of keepers around us have them for personal protection .That line down the back stands on edge when they are riled .
  9. Im sure Ian will shed light on this .
  10. Alton towers raghead fun day . :realmad:
  11. Good on you . :realmad: Disgrace .Rather than upset a few ragheads they would alienate the rest of us . :realmad:
  12. Probably nothing to worry about mate .The action of chewing reddens the gums anyway .
  13. A bit of freindly advice mate from one who knows -Save up and get a new one ,when the time is right as 2nd hand .22s have a habit of being shot out -the rifling is damaged and will not shoot properly .
  14. WHAT DID YOU USE BEFORE B AND F MATE .Did you ever lose a dog because of equipment error, not human error, dodgey batteries.Deben have served us well and will continue to do so .Patients in finding a dog is all that is required ,in an earth thats within the finders capabilities that is .We do not have any scary earths around us and so even the old box was man enough .Im afraid some of the old values are disappearing with technology .Its easy to put dog in and find straight away with this new tech stuff, some of the mystery for me is to locate the area myself ,then to pin point the action using v
  15. I see the anti summer brigade are blowing horns again . What you like ,missing out on all those flies, sweat rashes and exhaustion.Stingers head hight ,bracken sky high and the dig is generally under brambles .HEAVEN. :11:
  16. Oxford has its fair share too .Often see them up on thermals with buzzards .
  17. OR PUSH THE TRUCK WITH ONE HAND AND SHOOT WITH THE OTHER ,LAMP BETWEEN THE TEETH .Only joking mate .Nice one .
  18. Good one rabbithunter but I dont think the lads that thick. :11: Its tempting to bait the outside to get them used to the trap but in my experience seldom a good move .The first thing is to find a good site for it .If your setting on private land, away from the public, then choose a track, ride in a wood, game trail and site it at 90 degrees to the path and roughly 2m from it if poss.Remove the turf from the area bigger than the trap itself and leave abit of top soil loose in a pile.Level the trap on the base pushing it into the soil to mark the trap size, note where the treadle is ,mark a hole
