  6. Had a 2004 twincab for 3 years. Great motor. Used offroad for % of the time. Goes anywhere, but very thirsty.

  9. Well done. It's great to be alive and alone with nature on mornings like that.
  10. Colonel David Hancock is extremely knowledgeable on certain breeds, especially the Mastiff. His books are some of my best sellers. Not to be confused with David Hancock the lurcher man who has also written a decent book or two.
  11. While I was roe stalking the other evening I was so engrossed in watching painted ladies flitting around me I failed to get a shot at a decent buck that must have strolled past some 30 yards away. Just saw his rump and antler tips disappearing into a thick bramble patch.
  12. Our local game dealer collects within 5 days but insists that they remain fridged and un-gutted. Personally I gut on the day and hang for several days in winter but only one day in summer.
  13. White chin. Roe deer often look larger in failing light.

  15. Have a look at my website. Sometimes old books are the best.
  16. I agree. Most of his country books have attractive titles, especially to the young sportsman, but the contents are invariably rubbish. However, I believe his horror titles are quite collectable.
  17. If you cut into the livers and you will be able to tell if its fluke as the little sods will be visible , sounds like the cystic stages (cystercurcus tenuicolis) of the dog tapeworm Taenia Hydatigenia which the sheep, cattle and DEER are the host in the worms life cycle . As a Meat Inspector I see this every day , this does not affect the meat in any way , just rejection of the liver , just to say also check in the diaphragm as you might see a little sac filled with a liquid hanging from the flesh , this is where the the worms have passed from the liver and stuck to the diaphragm wall
  18. this weeks shooting times £1.50 each plus delivery Thanks very much. I had stopped buying the Shooting Times some time ago due to its lack of interesting (to me) content.
  19. Can anyone advise where I can acquire between 300 - 500 pheasant ex-layers preferably in Midland area? Thanks Greengrass3
  20. Can anyone advise on where to aquire between 300 - 500 pheasant ex-layers preferably in Midlands area?
  21. Has anyone any ideas on why 75% of the fallow deer I have shot in the last year have had white spots on their liver? These seem to be located mostly on the livers edge and not deep within. I am finding them in fallow of all ages and sexes but not in roe and muntjac from the same location. I have only noticed this in the last year. It has never been a major problem in previous years. Would appreciate suggestions. Greengrass3
  22. Thanks for the link. The roe population round here is expanding rapidly so that should be a great help. Incidentally when using my buttolo (not very successfully) last year I seemed to be drawing more muntjac than roe. Has anyone else experienced this?
