My preference would be the Navara with mileage from either vehicle not being a problem provided there's some sort of service history. (which the Isuzu has) The Isuzu is a nice truck but the auto gearbox is a 'cluncker' and 4 wheel drive can be quite difficult to engage and disengage due to the electronics. Quite good on 30mpg which is average for most 4 x 4's but the 3L engine only throw's out 129bhp with a hell of a lot of bottom end torque which again could make the back end skittish off road or on wet tarmac. Has the Isuzu done 41k in one year ?? or is your year a typo in the thread

Not necessarily Max, there are bargains privately but the dealers have a lot of money tied up in secondhand cars on their forecourt's, the bigger the dealer the better the price with the theory that they have bigger overheads. New car sales are down 26% and secondhand sales are down 23% so it's a buyers market at present. The D22, 2.5Di was built for purpose, it's a commercial vehicle designed for hard work. The D40, 2.5dCi is primary built for the liesure market with good off-road capability but the emphasis has been placed on tarmac use and family orientated. The D22 was phased out in early 2005 and the new D40 introduced as a relativly whole new vehicle but retained the Navara logo. The problematic vehicle is the D40, 2.5dCi from 2005 until and including 2006. Nic and Steve you have the D22, 2.5Di which is problem free ...
