Barf diets are the best for your dog but the problem most people have in feeding there dog a BARF diet is to get the right balance & that is the key really as if you feed to much of one mineral of vitamin & not enough of the other you start to cause diffiencies etc & your dog starts to suffer. Check out the yahoo board for BARF I would also check a couple of dog kennel sites that feed barf diets & look at there daily food routines. http://www.ripley-wrinkles.com/ shes got some good info too on supplements etc too I personally go roughly by the below diet with added

LOL i think thats abit of an old wifes tale, its causes quite alot of contraversy between vets as there is no Diffiniative answer as to why dogs do it & different people think alot of different things but the name for this disorder is Coprophagia The scientific term for this behaviour is coprophagia and it is a surprisingly common and natural behaviour that has many of its origins with your dog's ancestors. There are two main reasons they did this. The first was for reasons of hygiene in the communal den. The adults would ingest the stools of their puppies in order to keep the cramped

Ok to start with i am not a fruit cake or some complete nutter & i know my animals especially british wildlife ( or so i would like to think.. ) heres how it started I was out about two months ago down near otterspool lane watford & i was speaking to the farmer there and he was telling me he had 17 or so sheep killed since November last year & he thought it was dogs? maybe i thought as there is a public pathway & allways dogs around but seventeen??? thats a few & you think he would have seen one of them by now yet he has not, so a couple of weeks later i am down th

You can & should do pretty much what everyone has allready said for her/him as there has been some great advise but i just wanted to add like some you need to think more from the dogs angle her, ie she left her pack & all of a suden she is completely on her own in a new place with not one pack member around... its alot to take, i take it shes the only dog in the household? I personally dont have that problem as i have a couple of dogs when a new pup comes in it just settles down & sleeps with the others, like last week my family went away & was worried about there little st

I agree with Pops Aside from the fact that in the UK we cant have dogo's as i would love one, but American Bulldogs are used alot in the US for Hog hunting usually just the catching & they use the Curs for the bay & just let the AB go one they have the hog in sight & i have a couple of dvds most notable the don mathews "real deal" one in which they just use the AB & dam they do a brilliant just I truly believe American Bulldogs are one of the most versatile breeds going from hog hunting to people hunting & they diffiniatly have that "guard" attitude & generally

Nice catchdog Pops, I thought he was a Dogo, I also like this Vest for him as it should atleast protect your catchdogs Very Nice Also just wanted to find out if you know where dogoman is now as he is not on the forums anymore & i used to love his hunting stories... Guys this dogoman would tell you the stories of him hunting with his dogos ( usually pics showing four or five ) & them running with him on horseback in the mountains of argentina for upto 40 yes 40 miles a day & still catching a little piggy for lunch ( now thats a dog ) & i remember one really funny story o -
Exremely Conditioned Pitbull

Thats exactly what i thought & when you consider she is a bitch too. To me when i think of a super healthy working type dog i think of a dog like the one in that second clip who can pretty much do everything, & thats probably the best trait Pitbulls have they are just supreme athletes who are great allrounders & that bitch is a prime example.... God i hate these feckin stupid laws stopping normal honest people from owning fine specimens of canines like the one above... -
Exremely Conditioned Pitbull
richard25 replied to Little Butch's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Just had a little look through this heated topic lol i just think the reason topics like this get so heated is there is probably no other dog breed in the world today that has had the pi.ss taken out of it by people as much as the Beautiful Pitbull Terrier, & wrongly through the media some people get on the band wagon & have a dislike for them. as to the pics i think there is a difference between a working healthy dog in top condition & some of those muscle dogs on like some said creatine & god knows what else, i kind of think of it like a world class boxer being the health -
American Bulldogs Everytime for me but it really does depend on what exactly you want, do you just want a dog that will bark & look scary or do you want a real dog that will attack a real threat & if the second choice i say you find a good breeder of whatever your chosen breed & start speaking to them & expect to put alot of work in eg protection training something like shutzhund or my french ring etc... Hunter kennels have some proper Mastiffs along with Alanos & for American Bulldogs i think the most successsful kennel as to titled dogs goes to churchills or blueb

Do a little google search & just make sure i am right but i think its because Liver is high in iron or some other protein & should not be fed very often saying that though once a week should be fine & beneficial in some cases.

Probiotics are especially good for pups & weaning bitches ( heres a cut & paste ) Stress and the role of the gastrointestinal tract micro flora The gastrointestinal tract (GIT) of all healthy mammals contains over 400 species of microorganisms (bacteria, yeast, fungi, and protozoa). These microorganisms form a natural protective barrier which keeps opportunistic pathogens from proliferating. When a pet experiences some form of stress such as birth, lactation, weaning, new household members (human and pet), new diet, being left alone during the day, transportation, ve

Go to your local pet shop & get some pro biotics ( which usually comes in powder form ) & add that to your dogs food & that should diffiniatly help with the stomach problems as that add good bacteria to the stomach & gut. if you really cant get that add some natural yogurt maybe a large spoonful or so to there daily food but it would really be better to get the powder & you can get a big tub for £15.00 Good luck & let us know how it goes

Used to get a few crayfish at Otterspool way, good chub in there also, see some fantastic carp in there aswell but never hooked one. Funny you said about the Crayfish, i was done there tonight with the spot light trying to find the pesky little buggers but did not see a thing, & speaking about the Carp if you follow the road down to radlett & follow the river to the deep spots you see some pretty big carp, I like to go down there just to let the dogs have a little run after the rabbits & pick some mushrooms. Truly one of my favourite places to go its just no good for camping

Hi All Just wondering if anyone knew of any good spots for some wild camping ( anywhere Central or south ) I guess no one wants to share the spots & i totally understand as i have a few myself so i offer my favourite place for taking the dogs in return which is in hertfordshire ( otterspool lane ) & you have a choice of wild mushrooms & Krayfsh & even rabbits if your dog can catch them lol. i have been wild camping in the New forest, River Severn, a couple of spots around kent & the River Dean too but to be quite honest it was all alot of bother due to park wardens
