I to find it hard to swallow that any dog could take a wolf single handed but in central asia they use dogs like Caucasian Ovtcharka to guarrd there livestock against primarily wolves although again im not sure of the sub species of wolf they have there as it may be of one of the smaller breeds & aparently they are good dogs, they live with the livestock all year round & put out with the goats as pups to bond with them & usually i believe there maybe afew dogs to guard the stock so obviously that throws out the single handed part but they are meant to be worth there feed out there

Although i agree with most of what has been said about the cross with an AB & in some cases people are right about the show thing too, there are quite afew working AB breeders out there with proper working protection titles to prove it just acouple would be Bluebloods, Churchills, Caldeys etc & when you get a proper one you got a hell of a dog infact to much for most people & being slow to mature you cant push them like a shepherd etc they need everything done slowly & & nots lots of pressure & this is why most people have problems with them as they overload them too yo

Lovely looking Mal, do you know what lines his from as im quite familar with the breed, There alot of hard work but very rewarding, slightly smaller than the majority of GSD's but with that comes some extra agility & they can be very high in most drives which makes them ideal dogs for police & protection applications in fact they are becoming very common amongst working folk in shuthund and such. http://members.boardhost.com/bandog/msg/1242942199.html This is one special Mal RIP but it shows what they can do given the chance & chosen correctly from good lines.

I think them Kohler books are abit outdated now although i totally agree with the techniques you suggested though & i totally agree about dog borsal lol what a load of ,,,,, i just think Kohler is typical of the "old" style of dog training and one of the reasons the police in the country had alot of dog abuse cases at there kennels in the 90's, in one of his books i read he suggest grabbing your dog & lifting it in the air by its lead & letting him choke until his nearly fainted lol and thats suggested for a aggressive dog lol. i was really looking forward to reading his books and -
Probably easy for me to say as i dont live in the east end of london anymore.....but i wouldnt let it get to you mate.....i know i shouldnt but i find programs like these and kids like these quite amusing nowadays. None of us can right the wrongs in society so just laugh it off and rise above it. Thats exactly what my partner & my family says to me but sometimes you just got to stick up for what you believe in even when you know its not going to be well liked or in this case pee ya right off watching a load of nonsense lol I know i just need to move away from london so desparat

The sad thing about this program & those alike is i could probably make a program not to different to training techniques & abuse handed out in this program & all filming could be done in police kennels! and the sick thing about that is atleast these kids can use the excue there dumb, the police cant use that excuse. Im a member on the protection Uk forum and the talk sometimes coming from people within that work is a joke from macho crap about the handler aggresive dogs to general just there attitude towards the public. Pretty sad really when you think about it. but thats

lol im so annoyed i could write about this subject all night!!!!!! Beware ALL Programs like this & generally just the daily public i meet really make me just "give up" on people, i just dont have the time really for people i dont know generally & whilst out walking my three dogs i try & avoid talking to anyone & probably come across rude sometimes but Ignorance really really really grates on me & in general people are ignorant to anything they dont know or understand & especially in the canine world its only ever going to be the dog that suffers, oh sure afew bite

Couldnt agree with you more and nicely put ending...

Firstly ill state what i would like to happen with the Dangerous dog law ( although obviously its not going to ) I would like to see anyone who breeds a dog to have the dog microchipped & all breeders MUST be ultimately responsible for there litters as this would atleast stop some pricks & for all dogs to be licensed & stricter laws on owners as lets face it thats the problem not the dog breed BSL crap which has proved nothing but totally useless its the pointless life of these owners draining our society, wonder how many of the kids sign on? Now the program, it made me cringe

lovely looking pup there You have been given some good advice allready so i would stick to that ie long walks, dog crates etc, i would also suggest just leaving him in different rooms of the house for a minute or two whilst your home so he can just get used to his own company. Separation anxiety is a problem for alot of owners & theres two schools of thought on it, either the dog has such a high social pack drive that he just does not want to be left by his pack leader or the other end of the scale is he is the pack leader & getting anxious that one of his charges has left with

I will watch this program but in some ways i really dont want too as i know its only going to show misinformed young impressionable underdeprived teens with no sense of pretty much anything let alone how to care for a pet fish & when the general public watches this it just scares them even more its a good example of propaganda the same title could also be used for the police in the way they handle there dogs for example the big stink up afew years back about how abused there dogs where at the head training centre. Its all horrible really & really for anyone that knows a proper pitb

I really like this forum for various reasons & like some of the good information i can read about hunting etc but one thing that does strike me is how backwards some people really are with dogs with talk like "oh he maybe turning" & that kinda shite it really rubs on me that these dogs give you everything & the only thing you have to do is train em right & you still cant get that right ( this is nt just aimed at the boy who posted this this is for EVERYONE ) I am be no means mr some super trainer but the fact is dogs dont just "turn" as some have put it & they steadily show

Lovely looking dog there mate, it sounds like your on the right track anyway & just remember "patience is a virtue" lol or so i am told but the key thing really is just to stay calm & consistant & if she notices that you are starting to get annoyed & frustrated that will just work against you & it will be more of a fight. Personally i would sit at the front door all day with her just sitting there on a lead or even to start with put a collar & lead around her & just let her walk herself around the house, i understand what your saying about the screeching & v

me & the ol man were going through the cupboards today & found two prints one Thomas Malton print of charing cross back in 1795 & i think the other one is off parliament ( similar looking picture but written in french so dont have a clue ) anyway just wondering if anyone knew if they were worth a penny or two? as i am planning on taking them to the auction house to get a evaluation but to be honest my old man ( bless him ) cant even remember where or when he got them so dont have a clue what they are worth. Wish i could take a picture but have a cam at the moment but i thought
