They are different but they still believe in god almighty. And if you believe that they should be exterminated then that goes against what Jesus preached. The old testament is all the eye for an eye stuff, the new testament is all about praying for your enemies.

Funnily enough I decided on watching it for the first time ever the other month. Quite a touching and very brutal movi Pontius Pilates role in Jesus' death is understated in the movie, some Mel Gibson bias at play?
