    I don't know mate, if there is, it varied between lines. Looking back at the very old pics, some APBT's have that proper bulldog look and some look terrier type, but the confusing part is lines can throw both types. I'm of the opinion that there's no smoke without fire, it surely must have happened at some point, somewhere, I don't think it had a massive bearing on their performance either way.

    Yes, and that still might have been a bag of shite, only because someone makes It dog aggressive doesn't mean nothing. My old man's was a complete nightmare with other dogs but he was born that way, a few dogs attacking him as a pup flicked a switch. He wasn't walking around the village setting it on helpless dogs FFS. Lol

    Mate, that doesn't mean it was game. Both the Akita and APBT might have been bags of shite. And you don't have to tell me that, Akita's are one of the most stubborn breeds out there, they make a saluki look like a collie.

    Stratton is of the opinion that no terrier blood was added to the bulldog to create the pit dogs, it was someone posting on his FB page. I doesn't really make a difference really does it either way.

    I read something interesting a while back on Dick Stratton's FB page. Someone posted a scientific study on the DNA of dog breeds and I'm sure it basically confirmed that the APBT had a mixture of terrier blood, what you saying Gnasher, if true, a fair bit of romantic history slightly tainted, I know those who try and deny any terrier blood won't be happy.

    The black one looks ok, not too overly grotesque like many on parade these days, but I'd still say that it would have been below average 30 year ago.

    I'm trying to be nice here, no more. It looks ok for a bug eyed pug cross that is off lines bred to be grotesque show dogs and are nothing like the proper athletic staffords that are bred closer confirmation wise to the pit dogs of old.

    They're not to humans though, I don't think there's ever been a recorded attack on wild killer whales on humans.

    Mate, nobody is knocking your dog, it's in good nick for what it is but it isn't bred like a proper athletic staff, it's clearly off show dog tackle even if they might do bits like agility competitions and what not.
