    RIP Geoff Capes

From Facebook, i thought he was an angler: Holbeach & District Angling Club Geoff Capes was the President of Holbeach and District Angling Club for around 15 years. He was regularly on the banks of the Hollands when he was a youngster, fishing with his father, Bill who was a regular at the matches all his life. Condolences to all the family. RIP Geoff from all at the club.
  3. Little mention for The New Saints 2-0 victory against Astana a great result for a small team, in small Welsh league.

Another character of UK sport gone, condolences to family and friends. I know he was well know in the budgie world, but i'm sure i saw him on a BBC 2 Friday evening fishing show once, anybody know if he was an angler? Cheers. Aled
  5. Seems quite a few of us have not had the best of growing seasons. My Father and Father in Law have not done as well as usual. Cheers. Aled
  6. RIP and condolences to family and friends.
  7. Last of the potatoes. Just emptied the compost bin added it to the veg patch and dug it all in, a month earlier than usual! A little bit of fishing left, then rough shooting and wildfowling until the spring. Cheers. Aled
  8. Back where i was brought up, moved home 19 years ago, strangely enough like many West Walians i went to live in Cardiff, and met my wife who was also from the same area as me, so me moved back and got married in 2005. However i did live in Worcestershire for 2 years Devon for 3 years, Mid Wales for 3, and Cardiff for 5 before i came home. Had things worked out differently along the way i could well of stayed in Cardiff. Cheers. Aled
  9. And the finished product, used the juices to make gravy, it tasted good.
  10. Sorry guys taken thread off kilter chicken and veg in the slow cooker.
  11. Yes and the child who had a Spanish Dad was gutted that they insisted that he spoke Welsh to them, he was desperate to show off his Spanish speaking skills fair play to him.
  12. You mentioned principles earlier Wilf, maybe Churchill felt that his principles would not allow parts of Europe to continue to be ruled the way it was between 1939-45 and the UK had to take a stance? For better for poorer?
  13. A bit of all sorts, yes Asian, Eastern European, French Parent, Canadian Parent, Spanish Parent, Danish, and Dutch. missed out an Argentinean (Patagonia) also one child with Grandparents from Brittany who spoke Breton, French, Welsh & English.
  14. My wife is a primary school teacher in a Welsh medium school, she has had several children in her class who are trilingual and one or two who are quadrilingual.
  15. I was on holiday in St Ives 2 years ago, got chatting to a local cafe owner, she said they were struggling to find people to work in the cafe, especially when the schools and colleges were not on holiday, as there was nowhere for the the employees to live.
  16. I'm a parent to 2 lovely children, i bet they will say later on in adulthood that i did not push them enough, although so far so good they have both done well academically, and i have been really laid back about school work!
  17. I was given a fair bit of freedom, i was allowed to cycle to the river at night to go sea trout fishing, and i had an air rifle which allowed me to go shooting. Also went beating regularly. I do however want to note that the things i am complaining about are very very mundane compared to what some of you went through so i cannot complain too much. Cheers Aled
  18. OK all i got some salmon oil off Amazon, been feeding it to Celt for 2 weeks, no idea if its made the difference, but we are walking our full circular routes again with tail wagging and a happy trot trot! Cheers Aled
  19. Nice one Wilf, however One thing though i could not understand about him was why he never played amateur sport, because he would of been welcomed at amateur clubs with open arms, and we know physical activity is good for you!
  20. Accidental double post!
  21. Not quite the same as some of you but, a mate of mine could of played at a very high level of rugby union, football or been a very good medium distance runner had the talent and mental ability....he was also very very intelligent. Without a second thought he chose Oxford Uni in front of sport. He has done very well in life.
