hi mate i use a howa 1500 sporter topped with a fox firearms scope 8 32 44 and a t8 strapped on the end works for me pal inside a inch at 100yrds with remmi accutip 50grn bullets atb with your choice

just thought i would put this up , went out for an hour with the 223 did'nt really see much but had this fox in sight at 50 yrd to start with but he was a bit shy , when i flicked back on he was about 175 yrd and took him at that and a nice shot it was , not the best of picture but .... cheers loves2hunt

i mate i use remmi bt in my 223 and find them extemely accurate and devistating atb

just a suggestion freind of mine brought one second hand and was doing exactly the same as you are saying he found out the barrel was burnt out but atb with it

me personally would go for 223 as i use one myself and cant fault it for fox and ammo is cheaper but each to their own atb
