Stoney I don’t know you or whats gone on in your life. But you seem typical of most drug addicts/ alcoholics in that you seem very much self obsessed, talking about yourself all the time? You say you got yourself out of the hole you were in, but what about all the professionals in prison, doctors, shrinks whatever that helped you along the way? Also what about family? If you were such a bad alcoholic maybe they got sick of giving you chance after chance and decided to just give up on you? No axe to grind here but the way you’re coming across is very selfish, you’re entitled to your own o

I don’t think anyone could take up the mantle and carry it on. In Harcombe’s own words he was late to the digging scene (50 year old I think) so he had all that early enthusiasm most of us have in our teenage years and has been retired/ semi retired all that time so he had the time to do it too. Not knocking the man he is a great writer and has done the working terrier no harm, but the only men who could carry it on would be almost retired themselves and after 30 + years in the game could they really be arsed? I hope I’m wrong but I very much doubt it.

Rose tinted glasses though King? Maybe they had unprocessed food in them days but take away central heating, clean water, good sanitation, modern medicines etc etc, I know which era I’d rather be living in.??

Never! You would swear they were closely related looking at them?

Yes I know what you’re saying mate, but to me the feelings of worry that we all get from worrying about bills, work etc etc etc is not proper depression, it’s just feeling down, just like enjoying yourself gives you a good feeling. To me the real depressed people are the ones that have comfortable lives but just can’t pull themselves out of the rut for whatever reason?? Going back to your previous post about a lot of lads seem to be committing suicide, I agree, but I think it’s a lot more to do with the come down from drugs after a night out. I rarely go out but when I do it’s usu

As mentioned above in some posts, I think the problem a lot of people have with the ‘depression status’ is that all the fat slobs that have never worked a day in their lives claim depression to keep getting their benefit money when really there’s fk all wrong with them. So it takes the emphasis of the actual people who really are suffering.

Nice dogs Shane, they seem to breed quite uniform aswell ??

It seems to affect a lot of people, or at least so the doctors say, handing out anti-depressants ‘willy nilly’??

How much would you pay?♂️
Rabbit Hunter replied to Ace Boone coon's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
It’s not just as black and white as buying a dog you see work ABC , if a lad has a dog from a pup then the dog will usually build a bond with his owner and work all the better for it. There’s a lot more to a terrier than it being a digging terrier or a failure, there’s so much of a grey area in between the two poles that who’s to say what you’re buying? Start from a pup EVERY time for me, f*ck all this buying the finished article shite. -

By that last post ABC it seems there’s an ulterior motive to this thread and you’re trying to get under someones skin? -

I hate these types of threads. Money should be avoided with working terriers at all costs IMO. The amount of time and effort that some lads put into their dogs it would be impossible to put a price on a dog, lads that do seem to buy dogs all the time are the ones that seem to flit in and out of the game when they fancy and think they can just dive in at the deep end and get what they want with ££££££. -
Yep I’ll have one??

Looks like you’ve got the knack now Socks??

Could eating that much food not rupture your stomach? Surely can’t be good for you!?

Tried him in a spot a few weeks back and he hadn’t quite put it all together. Had him out a few times since and he’s mad keen, so I’ll give him another go soon enough and see how he fares.

Keen young dog...

Turned into a strong little thing her DD.

Sad to hear a hunt of over 200 years can just cease like that. If it’s because of the antis, then it will set a precedent for them and they’ll push to do it at other hunts now without a doubt.?
-
A good bitch too DD, I remember her getting the job done where a couple of youngsters couldn’t a few years back, having already been dug to once or twice herself on the morning.

That’s a good offer Cragman, can’t ask for better than that??. Still managed a couple of nice pics Zandy.

I can’t believe a stanley blade could do so much damage??? Seemed to happen in the blink of an eye aswell, terrible for the poor lads family to havto wait so long for justice too?
-
Looks good fun and very rewarding I’d imagine having your own small pack? Do you account for a few through the season?

When I think of a typical ‘Patterdale’, I imagine the Nuttall type terriers, black, smooth, white blaze etc. The rough haired choc and black dogs you see are like a different breed when compared I think and look more of a ‘Fell’ type.
