Ratface- Do you think the rocks led to the decline of the Working Lakelands? As surely before long you're breeding from either half hearted yappers or bullies that are giving way when they meet one that gives as good as it gets. Either way both undesirable traits to have/ breed from.

So would you breed off the type of terrier you just described RF? As surely they're the type that would be a cull in digging terriers.

I admire these rescues Ziggy, BUT how many good dogs have been lost? I'd imagine it outweighs the rescues.

It seems to be whatever mood you catch them in, I've had them really helpful in the past, but recently I've rang a couple of times and they were no help at all. -

Ok mate thanks, is there any certain model and lens you can recommend? I'll only mainly be using it for taking pics of the terriers on days out etc. Not wildlife pics 300 yds away or anything like that.

They look like my worst nightmare, I simply couldn't drop a dog in there as there's too many what ifs, especially for the sake of bolting a fox. One of my main concerns would be if the collar got hooked onto something or jammed somehow, how would you get the dog out?

But how would you know the dog had killed the fox rather than come away from it? I remember reading something in Plummer's 'Fell Terrier' where a dog was described as having appeared 'bloodied but unbowed, victorious from the rock pile' etc and it always stuck in my head, how do they know the fox was dead? I've seen, as I'm sure many have, a dog come from an earth in pieces with people present saying 'oh hes killed it' and then enter another terrier and the fox is still very much alive. I've nothing against the rock piles Ziggy as I'm sure you have some good sport from them, b

I bought some of that diatamaceous earth(spelling?) last year but can't actually figure what you do with it? I sprinkled it in the kennel and it kicked up a dust cloud everytime the dogs went in or out, so it didn't look good. Then I read on here you can only put it on the dogs feed if its a certain type? Puzzling.

What's the end result if you stick a stayer in the rocks and he gets one into a stopend?

I thought they already did ban them a few weeks back. Seen something in the paper that it had been passed through Parliament or something similar. -
