Spring for me, it's like everything's being reborn, after the barren months of winter. plus the evenings are lighter which means more training with the youngster

You should have tried doing that, before you started writing your rubbish. It may have knocked some sense into you. Personally i have doubts about your identity too, I think you must be a woman. Your posts, particularly the ones aimed at me, could not have been written by someone who has balls, that’s for sure.. I have, however, enjoyed our little chat

how right you are farlap. of cause your point regarding pet owner's is correct and does in fact make me pretty angry. i wrote a similar thread earlier on in this thread i think. When i say breeder, i use the term very loosly. Many per owners who breed do so, through ignorance and greed and many of the pups become the casualties. Their ignorance though, i cannot forgive. The information is out there and easy to obtain. As i have said before, if someone expects people to buy their pups, they should be breeding the best they can.

I don't understand your last comment, but with regards to my replying, sure i do. The sporting Agent is a real man who stands up for those's who are being insulted and attacked, simply because people like you, think you've found an easy target.

it needed to be said???? don't mame me LAUGH, you looked for an excuse to attack. Ratman2, how come you kept quiet??? i saw you reading these posts before. did you need a liitle support first before saying anything???? like a little boy in the schoold play ground, says nothing untill he gets a few friends on his side.

the "do gooders" don't give a damn about the dogs IMPO, they just want to create more problems and make it harder for us to work our dogs.

i heard about this, but i believe many of the Springers had undocked tails so i presume (I may be wrong) that many of these Springer’s had not been bred as working dogs, rather, as pets. I believe Springer’s along with Labs are in the top 10 breeds of dogs being rehomed. Many people get these’s dogs as cute pups without the understanding of how much physical and mental stimulation they require, pretty soon these pet owners can’t cope with the destruction dogs cause, based on boredom. That’s why i believe working dogs should be worked, or at least given the stimulation they require.

Help required with 11month Patterdale.

i have never heard of a castrated male being put of hunting, in fact i hear the opposite, a male is less likely to wonder if he’s castrated and stick to the job in hand, because he’s not put off by females, However i have heard that if they are castrated before they properly mature, they may retain some puppy like behaviour. -
you can shoot me should i ever darken the doors of the show world As far as i'm concerned ( you may disagree) a working dog should be working, not poncing about in a show ring with ribbons in it's nicely shampoo'd coat. i don't shampoo my dog, she get's a hosing down when she’s really bad, otherwise nothing, and she has one shiney coat.

Thats it, now i'll be on all night

to be honest, i don't know much about this kind of behaviour but i am having the same sort of problem with mine. I asked a few friend's who know a bit about dog's and they all agreed that dog's go through an adolescent stage, anywhere between 6 month’s and 2 years, displaying this kind of behaviour. Running away, not listening to commands and generally acting the fool, but from all accounts they do get over it in time.

god, they where quick.. couldn't work out how to kill the boss though

I actually agree with endorsements on papers, depending on the circumstances, like the ones you state. The people who are really responsible for messing up good pedigree’s usually are pet owner’s who have no idea about breeding, but want to make a few quid. Strangely, i have rarely come across this type of ‘back street breeding’ amount the working world, although I’m sure it does sometimes happen. I have come across dog’s who do not meet the breed standard in any way, being bred because the owner thinks their “ lovelyâ€, or because they think their dog should have a litter. Many

i can see this kind of injury happening more and more. People are struggling to find vets prepared to dock tails now, even when it can be proved that the pups are going as working dogs. Somebody i have heard of binds theirs up with a bandage, from top to tip. Seems to do the trick, no injuries as yet.

as always, a great read with more drama than a tv soap ( not that i ever bother watching them )

Just out of interest, is your dog quite young? many young dog's do this and grow out of it. Mine ate everything including cow and horse dung, and still has a go if i don't watch her.

i wouldn't recommend a springer or cocker as first time working dog's. They are great dog's but need a experienced hand, springer's because they are mad, cocker's because if you make mistakes with them, it's tough to rectify them later. i wouldn't go for a cross, but other's do and it works out well, but it's dependant on the parent's, not the mix. Lab's can be an handfull too, at least in the early day's. Problem with working Lab's, they have a lot of energy but you can't exercise them too much in the early day’s, up until 12 month’s at least, because this could cause problem’s with t

also it may be worth taking into account that one of the women, you are taking about, is actually a man, Carper is male. To say that children are only the product of their parents is naive. There are many poor areas in this country where crime seems to be high. Why? Because every parent in that estate are bad parent's? not so. There was an experiment conducted by sociologist many years ago, they wanted to test whether people will behave in an alien way, just by suggestion. Their finding where that human being's are constantly learning from what they see and experience around them. The ar

I think some of what you say, does in fact have a ring of truth. There are women and men who love nothing better to slag of their ex partners, Im lucky, in that i dont have that problem, however, to suggest that men turn to drink is the fault of his partner is rather insulting. It isn't much different than saying women deserve all they get. Sorry but no one deserves to live like that and very few are aware that their partners are going to turn out like that. No one's going to marry or become involved with an individual who's addicted to alcohol or any other substance, unless they themselves ar

you don't remember me????? i'm sure we met at a self help group, regarding one of the above Ah, now I remember.......you were the one that WAS quite clever, DIDN'T give a damn what others said about you, HAD MORE friends than a lottery winner..............but was far too interested in men in skirts!! , i don't remember going to a cross dressing self help group but i have been know to frequent these places, to find lonely people to spout my rubbish off too, they're the only one's who listen Ah....sorry I got you mistaken for a lass in the class for those of us with "special
