  1. which one you keeping Andy ? They all look belters.
  2. hehehehee yeah, he met Me and Tomo.
  3. He does.. Remember that night when old Molly cost me a large sum of money at the emergency vets trigger ? We found her limit that night. On the subject of picking runs. My old dog Doris has made the grand old age of 12 and is still a handy dog in a rabbit catchers tool box. Even with countless injuries and muscle sprains etc she still catches over the warrens and often retrieves for me, even when I'm shooting bunnies at night or day. She's been in my opinion picking runs for the last 8 years or so. If she didn't have the brains to pick wisely she wouldn't have lasted this long. I can
  4. Only problem with the Deerhound types these days is finding a line that’s actually working types. lots of show ponies out there these days. I must admit I’ve always loved the deerhound types. I once went lamping with a lad 30” tts deerhound type. I can honestly say it suprised me immensely how easy it caught the bunnies. obviously it was wasted on such an inferior challenge.
  5. My thoughts and prayers are with you my old mate. you’re always welcome to come and have a walk with or without the dogs. bring Trigger with you and I’ll grab a couple of ferrets and make a day of it. I bet old buck would Still do ok on top of the warrens. Doris is 12 and she still has the occasional little go. She’d kill herself if I let her go for it. But having a few hours marking up warrens and bringing back the odd shot bunny Keeps her happy and feeling like she’s still top dog. some good folk on this old site and it obvious they all think a lot about y
  6. I remember Buck's first day on the Dale's. Remember the day we lost my old dog Molly down Shropshire ? lots of good memories old friend. Most folk will never see the things and do the things you have done with your dogs. You are one of a last generation. write a book like Phil does and tell the world what they missed out on. atb vin

    What can I say?

looking good Ray I always chuckle when I remember that Show we went to and Tomo gave you a pair of boxing gloves for a showdown with someone I can't even remember. That was a funny day. lots of good memories from days and nights out with Trigger. I think we've all got a few more seasons to get through yet. I was up the Dales today. Quite a few with little marbles inside them. The season is just about over. Possibly One more day or night. fingers crossed. You're always welcome old friend. Take it easy. Vin

    Do they know ??

So sad Ray. Get Trigger to have a day off work and come up the Dales for a day out mate. Bring the old lad and I'll bring the old girl. Stay over and we can raise a glass. Always welcome.
  10. Hello chaps. I've got 1 spare hob from this lasts years breeding. Not one of my own line. It's got some of that angora breeding in it, Dark polecat type but not too big and quite stubby looking. It's done nothing except eat rabbits and will need to be handled well before working it. Its not a biter but its nervous. Last owner was a not very kind towards his stock. I only took it in to save it from a shit life. I've got too many to work these days and like Tomo is doing, its time to lighten the load. I'm in Rotherham.
  11. good to see old Buck mate. I remember his first time up the Dales. seems a few years ago, not bloody 10 years.
  12. That was a memorable day Phil...Wish old Doris looked liked that these days. ATB Vin

  14. It’s good to see you’re back old chap. Don dog still around is even better to know. just back myself after a long long break from this place. we ought to have a mooch one dark windy night sometime before the end of winter. Big lad is busy keeping Ken happy and playing with rat holes in supermarkets. But I’m sure he’d be up for a night out. he’s got a a couple of fast crocodiles ! Merry Christmas
