  3. seen acouple of three quater bred greyhound beds and they were class animals well trained and good all rounders both were identical to dillons dog [i had to look twice as i thoght it was my mates old dog] i cant understand why this cross isnt more popular as they were lookers as well as doers
  4. Loads of em on the streets known by another name over here heinz 57 seriously though if you want a dog for mountain work consider a deerhound or deerhound x something thats doing the job you require as there would be too much wastage using a hunterheinz
  5. Sorry mate but her yapping only goes to show you entered her too young and easy kills you dont get on fast grass i always enter on plough or moorside where the rabbits are easy i know youve got permission but giving tongue imo is a cardinal sin and something that only happened to me once and that was due to running the dog too young pick your ground carefully and only run bunnies the dog has a chance on forget the golf course for a beginner
  6. Have to agree with that a quality varied diet every time i get em used to all types of food chicken, beef tripe and horse if i can get it i also put onion and garlic in with it never tried redmills so cant comment on it but i didnt like the greyhound complete meals i have tried as me dogs seemed to carry too much weght in their guts and they used too drink like feck after coursing so ive stuck to the brown bread [stale loaves from the bakers] i just dry it out in the airing cupboard or outside if its sunny. I give em eggs and milk cornflakes and cod liver oil for breakfast or when they get bac

  11. As the lads have said get some calcium down her i use johnsons and a good supply of raw meat nothing better for producing milk i usually use calf carcasses cheap from your local knackers yard and when they drop the pups give her some tripe too to help with nutrients cracking looking dogs them mate all the best!
  12. Yeah [bANNED TEXT] theyd be fitter on the fifth hare instead of the fourth [daytime] and theyd lamp another hour or two and would be quicker getting their tongues in between courses i noticed the same difference when i started feeding lean beef biscuits gravy etc.
  13. The suppliment i used was equavite and if you know your own dogs you know when anything you do alters their abillity especially if your really testing them
  14. Hi Tomo the stuff i used was mainly made from sugar beet derivatives and definitely made a difference in the recovery rates of the dogs for hard daytime coursing and it was also inexpensive definitely worth a try one dog a mate of mine had used to go into like a trance state when it was nackered after feeding this suppliment the condition never happened again so perhaps it helps the blood sugars etc anyway definitely woryh a try but i wouldnt use it if the dogs werent getting a lot of hammer
  15. I used to do a lot of coursing and hard nights lamping and found that with the inclusion of a racehorse suppliment the dogs used to run much better. The stuff i used to use was equivite anyone else used anything like this?
  16. the best might not be necesserally the quickest, other qualities to look out for depending on the job you want the dog for are good feet , good mouth, good wind, conformation and a confident temprement. the quicker type lurchers are normaly the ones whos working lives are cut short due to injurys. BANG ON!!!
