Plummers Grip and Anne Powers Kizzy
juckler123 replied to juckler123's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
matters to me mate i can go back a lot further on one part of the line be good to know how far back the kizzy line goes as well. Carp i now you now the score mate heard how bert ended his life when i was doing time for the birds Bodgers stuff was top drawer plummer knew that thats why he had it on the yard. Imho Ts collie type Rusty would have made a far better start to a line than Merle did and bodgers line was as good as you would ever want for filling the freezer. -
Looks real well now shes grown you cant beat good blood you can see strength in both them bitches

Plummers Grip and Anne Powers Kizzy
juckler123 replied to juckler123's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
If that is the all white bitch with a brindle saddle patch that one is called Bimbo. They are in all of my line of lurchers too: Anne did do a family tree for me ages ago: I'll see if I can find it somewhere, though it doesn't actually mean a lot as it reads, for example, as "Mr X's fawn rough dog over one of Anne's bitches" A lot of it doesn't actually tell you what breeds went into the line, just the dogs and bitches used. Cheers the brindle and white bitch was out the first mating of grip and kizzy Dell think theres a group of them in lambourn book as well? kizzys sister was -

Took the Airedale cross pup ferreting
juckler123 replied to skycat's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Realy like the look of the Airdale cross Skycat all the best with them My mate owned a pure airdale called tauper nothing slow about that dog once switched on he was a demon. One thing really stood out to me beside the gameness and that was the thickness of skin he had a hide and a half on him -
Didnt expect this post brother will bell the lads local to me and get the word out here someone knew too much as i know your carefull with your dogs. Cant understand them taking lucy either unless they plan to breed her the pups are running well from her so could be the case either way the type and markings will not be easy for them to run them in company will bell you later today fingers crossed you will hear something soon my mate they want naming and then sorting atb

Theres been a few articles on the tv and in papers about mushroom foraging they are on the case to stop it i feel Its been banned in one forest already but with a bit of care you can harvest mushrooms for years and cause no loss of fungi just get a little folding knife and cut the stems through instead of pulling them up thats all you have to do im still picking the same rings and trees i did when i was a kid 35 years now ive been going to some of them take care to look after them and they will in turn look after you atvb

soil mix for growing veg
juckler123 replied to badgerboy's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
Soils always work in progress sand and loam will help with the clay and muck of course. If you can get it get pidgeon muck off of the racing pidgeon lads for your brassica plot beats liming as the mucks full of it -
Found some fungi under weeping willow
juckler123 replied to CUPCAKE118's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
Its ok picking them its carying the buggers Thats an average haul JD for the trent valley mate always got a few in for breakfast this time of year and the shps cant get enough of them even though they have started growing them commercially . Once ive found a mushroom ring i look after it by cutting the mushrooms and not pulling them and find they keep on giving you can cut them weekly depending on weather ive rings still that i first picked as a kid just a few years back
