    One way to make a dog special thats get it out 24/7 if its got enough speed stamina and brain it can be brought out with work some of the best dogs ive seen have been owned by the poorest folk and funnily enough young lads that were keen they learn nothing in the kennel and if your talking lines of dogs good blood will always out atvb, Good post Boyo

    Great haul lads nice to see Jacks offspring doing the job they were bred to do Venus looks a right nice type Tomo and Don well ive a soft spot for them half collie types for filling the bag been great to see him come on from a pup atb to you both.

    Think you answered your own question Si dont matter as long as the dogs are out doing some form of work cant really comment on others views as i dont mix much only dog lads i dont rate thats them that nick others stock and them that buy grown dogs in and sell at the first fault .

    Heres one of Annes i owned he got me through some very hard times theres a few more in the lambourn book . Some of the traveller lines are old as well same as the merlin and eve lines

    Think linnet in there is related as well had one off of Anne in 1980 one of the best dogs ive ever owned still got one about me now down from him . Last time i was at Annes shed just had one run over on the A38 like she said the roads had become much busier since she first had lurchers and they soon start to go further and further afield my mate also lets his free roam not many survive.     Am not saying ginger frenches luke took eight hares I was on about another stud dog called luke that belong to my old man the sire or garndsire to ginger frenches luke to eves sire prince and deacon if I'm not mistaken plus numerous other salkukis all them years ago Ayup Mac your not wrong mate that line done a lot for the coursing dogs Russ who bred Eve reckons Prince was one of the best coursing dogs hed ever owned and he had owned a fair few well known dogs at that time

    Its hard to generalise id say weve had warm winters and had our first proper winter for a bit last year hares went poor after it but it was snow covering that done them happen if winters were colder theyd adapt accordingly cant remember poor hares when we did have bad winters it was a case of easy pickings in the snow. One thing i have noticed about winter hares three good weeks of frost on their backs does seem to make them step up a gear imho id say dec and jan they are at their fittest as they are ready for bucking come feb in a warm winter they will be going off

    True, but i've neevr seen it happen. Personally i find the barking what gives them the edge over spaniels (and i love spaniels). When working certain areas, covers etc, it's very handy to ave a dog sounding on quarry to put the lurcher in the right place at the right time. As for small lurcher vs terrier/spaniel. NO lurcher will enter and work cover like the other two dogs. You want to see some little lurcher types mate ive had whippet collies that would enter any cover and equal any terrier ive ever seen at finding its something im looking forward to in old age when them

    Grand looking pups Rich in the house as well what more could you want Karlsberg is that sonia the dam to the pups and what was the sire if you dont mind me asking? Optimus that Ozzy dog is a fine example of the wooly type long may they reign A real special sort and a line that deserves to be kept going

    Let your mate be careful picking his pup Hancock does produce the odd belter but i have seen some of his dogs that were too big and ungainly to catch anything some of the 3/4 he used to produce were no better than greys he sold a lad one cheap in our village a couple of years back it had a half length tail and couldnt catch a rat in a phonebox useless thing he let the lad have him cheap cos of the tail it should have been pts. Had a half bed bitch off of him there was about seven litters to choose from at that time i chose her as she was the only one i fancied on the yard he let me take her

    No money that mate ive a pup on same way bred hope he gets a good running home the breeding alone is worth the pester atb.

    No mate the ban doesent affect the upper classes who make the laws they have land a plenty and are out more than the general public realy know or get to know about but with a little thought you can still do things legally on your own permission if you are lucky enough to have any that is its a silly set of rules that dont take much getting round atb.

    I have often thought about growing baccy mate i already smoke a colstfoot mix have done for years would have though get the right strain and learn how to cure it properly you are in with a chance I will look forward to hearing your vewrdict and if you dont mind where can you buy the golden virginia plants here in the uk.

    Do it i grow all my salad stuff herbs and carrots at home in the garden mix them all in with flowers looks spot on plus i plant the council beds as well no one complained yet

    Really like Maisy from what ive seen mate all the blood in them pups is top drawer im sorley tempted but dogged up at the moment hope they get the homes they deserve them light coloured pups look real special Paul atvb mate
