Was in there at the start don't neglect that I find most lurchers don't have the preydrive I require nor the hunting ability that makes for a quality walk out to be fair I lost a lot when I lost my old lurcher line and it was an old coursing line but used for a purpose not just coursing ? It's the ground pal pure and simple I have had dogs that could kill in the first few turns on sand and firm going but on clay or Blackland could not speak to the lads that's done it they tell you the same ? That bitch could kill in the smallest of fields without blowing no worries that hare was Mr Right we all meet them no matter what you have ? Bless you pal I hear you I kept line bred for years just collie x deerhound grey Saluki X's till I lost the line and went onto the pures I haven't looked back though it hurt what I lost am getting old now so what I require in a runner has altered also I like what I see in yours pal and one thing I've noticed in fifty years of running dogs is don't go to greyhound or greyhound whippet or you will go backwards the coursing dogs and the working salukis are line bred best to best that's where I would go next it works bud seen it many times but it's the man behind the lead that makes the greatest d

This thread was about Scouser I doubt your strain has three or four minutes in it depending on ground whether clay or slop pal but I see a hound that can feed a street and fill a bag so no disrespect to you and yours ?? Nothing wrong with that but could it run six plus minutes on puss ?? Dogs that can run over that and are up to their elbows whilst the hares are running the top of the ground are one in a million imho If you have that treasure it's very very special ?

I'd say that Scouser is worth the money but the yapping would bother me ? A lot of the line do it especially from buddy but it's the want in them and many pack in giving tongue with age and experience which doesn't take much sorting.. Correct entering and early success takes that out of the equation.. He's bred right for sure and been seen out by a good few lads and produced the goods What MC Hull said is spot on ? And what bearfoot said too they are alright till they drop on a monster then and only then you know what you have ? That's the true test of a coursing

Had a few deerhound xs in the eighties not one did for me what I needed back then ? But put across a good working lurcher of collie or Saluki ancestors they could fill a bag day and night ? And Bull X's really ? I have seen more crap bull X's in my life than any other cross I'd say game but useless in the field feet stamina and far too heavy if they ever do connect with edible game ?
