  1. i have the same prob with my jill. wont eat meat in summer
  2. they look keen. Are they into ferreting yet?
  3. My vet is around 20 quid. A bit of a price but it is cheaper if they do it while there is a callout on my farm
  4. Mine are on jameswellbeloved most of the time, and they dont smell any worse than when they are on meat
  5. I have tried but cant manage it. I have used one witha friend but never used one regulary. I prefere not to use one thats all.
  6. anyone else no anything?
  7. Looks fine. Not fully swollen or coming out I would say.
  8. why cant you just use it "sideways" it will give you an indication where the ferret is, and indeed, if it is still in the burrow. I've packed ferreting in now, but if i were ever to get back into it, i wouldnt drop a ferret in a burrow without a locater collar on. I dont see the point in paying for one and not being able t use it very well. After all they never used to use them
  9. probably. I am doing fine without at the moment. The hedges around my place are all to hard to dig into. And unless you are on top of the hedge then you wouldnt be able to use a locator
  10. someone has suggested to me chicken wings from the super market. like 1.50 for 25. cheap and they can eat alot. also offal, frozen mince anything you can get hold of
  11. I dont think I will manage it. I will have a think.....
  12. I would give it a go but im not sure on the survial rate
  13. a ferret finder cant be "kept in case I need it", how would you know your going to need it, until the fert is stuck down for hours, start yelling at the hole for it to come out and put its collar on I would use it when im ferreting open sets. They are useless in hedgerows
  14. I totally agree. I find that I can sit outside a borrow and stil enjoy it.
  15. yes The isnt any point in doing it
  16. a kid with common sense sat you're out ferreting say you have your net's ferret and ferret box in mine i will put paper then there bedding on top say your ferret stay's down is it not common sense to take a bit of that paper and use it to smoke your ferret out Say i come to pick you up for a bit of hunting. And lets say you slept in.So i proceed to push the sun newspaper through your letter box in the attempt to smoke you out.Smoke kills mate thats a common fact.I am no vet or owt but im guessing it wouldnt take a lot.Really cant be good for a small animal like a fert. A
  17. I just dont see why smoking helps? Wouldnt it scare the rabbits on to another burry anyway and then if you are ferreting a nice open set then you will have lost it due to a bit of laziness
  18. ferreting is a sport. Why not just sit and wait or use a locator. What is the point of smoking. Stupid thing to do if you ask me
  19. sorry. He has an ace shot on him. But I will tel him about it being only 15-20 yards
  20. Sorry it sounded like you were looking at buying it. No lol.
  21. Will do. It wll kill further away from that though because I have shot a rbbit with it before at 25-30yrds
  22. If I wanted 1 I can buy 1 new. I may have made it come out wrong.lol
