  1. there is a pinned bit in the frequently asked bit at the top I think
  2. Most people use plywood, not too thick as it gets heavy. but if you have permission which you can drive on or go round on a quad then it looks nice.
  3. nice day, I am pissed off that people are doing this while im stuck in maths and physics haha
  4. also if you use a net with 2, 1/4 inch mesh the head will go through easy and be good for killing straight in the net, I must thank Phil Lloyd for that one as I learnt it in one of his coney catcher vids
  5. works a treat, get the hammer and hold it so it is flat ith the flat bit on the top pointing on the floor, and hit it with the hole of the top of the hammer, not just the little round bit
  6. are you megadriveman? nope, willy.f11
  7. i commented a good sensible comment, I hope it makes the rest of us look good. it may help if more of us sportsman commented how to do it humanely as it puts the antis at rest at least thinking we disagree with the way that guys doing it. he aint doing it good at all
  8. that would work to i should think. just hold it up near it and if it starts jumping up and down and trying to atack it give it a kick or zap it with an electric collar.
  9. when i just had the 2 ferrets they would demolish 2 fair sized rabbits in not much time. I buy the cockerals off my dad (he breeds chickens) as he doesnt want em. I sex em at an early age in the summer and then feed them till about ferret eating size. I pay about 50p a cock for em. good ferret food. hang it by the legs in the house and they will eat most of a chicken. i save some for myself though as cockerals are nice to eat if not too old.
  10. theres that aswell but tbh if a terrier aint taught it its going to want to kill the ferret anyway, no matter how much it bites it.
  11. is mine the answere classed as stupid? i dont think it is as some parents wont change thier mind after saying no.
  12. what nets are they? hemp, nylon? and if nylon, any idea what z they are?
  13. or ive been told that if he really wants to kill the ferret, then put a nice tight muzzel on the dog, tie him up and get a nice nasty ferret and put it near his face (away from his eyes) when the dog makes a bark and whining through the muzzel as he wants to bite it it will scare the ferret and it will hopefully bite the dog on the nose lol. this usually gives the dog a scare and my mates never even looked at a ferret after that day lol. Ive still got to try it on mine.
  14. Yeah, they have a go at us hunters for keeping our animals for one reason (work) and not treating them properly. but when it comes to the type of people that are funding the RSPCA they dont really even think about vetting them. should of shown the pet owners that the RSPCA can be pricks and not to stick up for them lol, well done for taking them.
  15. google it buddy my mothers like that about ferrets, she said that I aint aloud anymore, she thinks I have 3 at the moment but I just sneak in more, as she never looks in anyway lol and the old man dont care. I have got 3 since she told me to stop and another 1 is on the way. If need be I will just say I found em out ferreting lol
  16. good luck with it mate, looks like a nice job. I usually either have a thick stick with me or use the metal part of a hammer. but anyway, a grand job there.
  17. IMO a nice first cross top quality colliexgrey are nice to work with in the field. Also we have used a colliexdeerhoundxgrey and that worked nicely with the ferrets, quite quick on the mark, but thats just my opinion
  18. nice setup there DM, I bet it did cost a bit..
  19. we have anice bit of land me and my mate will be doing next week in half term, you guys are welcome to tag along and have a days sport. when the conditions are right its a nice place to go. also shotguns and dogs are welcome
  20. Hi all, just to say as all the cornish seem to have got together lol, would any of you guys be interested in a day or 2 ferreting on bodmin moor? i have a nice amount of permission up there so anyone who wants to hook up they are welcome. im in st breward, near bodmin and only can really take people on thier own as i will have to have a mate or 2 to show me the good places, as I barely go on my own. But im only 14 so please no peodofiles
  21. I bagged myself some more permission this evening, just picked up the phone and the old dear said that it was fine. So thats about another 400 acres of moorland filled with rabbits waiting to be ferreted. I will be there most days on half term as we sneeked in the other day and there were rabbits everywhere and holes in the ground and lots of nice grassy hedges, no brambles!!! and most of all it wont take me long to cycle to as its only about 1/2 and hour away.
  22. I think my 3 jill kits are just about ready now, they were born on the 1st of july so do you think thats ok?
