My friend jerald, keeps a rifle in his vehicle all the time, for the reason that he may see the beast of bodmin moor. LMAO he knows he will get all the permission ever if he manages to shoot it

  8. if you ask me, a ferrets a ferret and aslong as it doesnt bite, and works well colour doesnt matter to me
  9. stubby is very helpful, i owe alot to him on the netting front aswell
  10. its weird down here, if you are inland, all the hedges are pretty horrible and covered in brambles and near as dammit impossible to net, but the minute you walk onto the moor, its lovely drystone hedges, banks and ground sets. I put a thread up of me out and behind me is a bank, and is probably the most covered bank i ferret on the moor. Its weird lmao

  16. you must work hard for your permission, good on ya!
  17. shotgun shot rabbits should be fine mate, as long as you use 7 shot up, apparently. But just gut it, and then throw it in, they will love the head so dont take that off, and if need be, you might want to pull the skin back around the ribs abit, so it opens it up more, good luck mate
  18. or mate, if you can get hold of most dogs (most dogs will rat) a collie or preferably a terrier, then get a nice big axe handle, and get a chainsaw if you have no smoker, and poke the exaust down the hole. The rats should bolt to your dog and your stick, you will get better and better as i did, and eventually, you wont miss many and wont need a dog haha
  19. i must admit, im hopeless at pegging as i go and my only way is to backpeg. And i would have thought that if you are new to it surely this would be easier?? so i dont know much but personnally find my way the easiest lmao
  20. Took the terrier out tonight in some of our poultry sheds, (borderxrussel). We started in a bigger shed, with a few rollaway egg boxes etc, with a fair few rats in. We let the dog off, blocked off all exits and pulled back the rollaway egg boxes, quite a few big old rats bolted but the dog was not on the ball as he hadnt been out lately, and missed the lot we had never done this shed before so didnt really know where the rats would go, but it worked out that they ran into the corner, up the wall, along a long ledge, and upside down over a beam. If we knew this we could have clubbed em as they
  21. haha, it was good and that bank was quite covered for the moor round here. Its usually groundsets, dry stone walls, and nice clean old hedge banks, like this but just grass. But the minute you get off the moor, the cover is thick and impossible to work.
  22. perhaps he is that age and not aloud out with an adult??? lol.
