  3. Folks, Can someone suggest what the effect will likely be if I reduce the barrel length of my .243 from 25" to 20" (1 in 10 twist). As I understand it, I will lose some velocity on the rounds I use - Sako 90gr Gamepoint - but the length at the moment with the moderator is just a little unwieldy ! Sako suggest the muzzle velocity for the round is 3130 but not from what barrel. I have seen it suggested that the velocity loss could be as high as 100fps per inch ?? Indeed I have also seen a suggest average 30fps per inch loss in velocity too !!!! Obviously with a good job accur
  4. Very nice....I am still waiting for my first deer since acquiring my .243 ! Well done...that looks like a lovely bit of countryside you have got there....where abouts are you ??? Cheers + ATVB Philip
  5. I have one on my .17hmr and .243 and think that for the money they are very hard to beat. I obtained both of the them second hand. One came with the hmr and I bought the other on Airgunbbs for £120 inc P&P as new. They do offer pretty good light transmission, good clarity and a crisp picture. They are better scopes available for more money, but on a budget they do the job. With a much bigger spend you will get a few more extra minutes at each end of the day, but would down to x5 you will not miss much. What I have increasing found is that I need a scope that is low mount
  6. Hi - Is there then a charge for the meat itself ??? Cheers + ATVB Philip
  7. Chaps, How much does it cost to get a head mounted like that anyway ?? Cheers + ATVB Philip
  8. Hi, I have been shooting for a long while now, but mainly air rifles, target practice, zeroing and pest control. I have just had my FEO visit where he intimated that all was well for my application for .22LR, .17HMR and shotguns !!! Just waiting for the Certificates to come through before I pick up my first "real" rifle from a respected member on the other site that you will usually find me frequenting - AirgunBBS. Shooting is just so addictive but just so very relaxing. Cheers + ATVB Philip
