I've got one, I use it with the rifle though, beam way too tight for dogwork I reckon. I keep saying I'll try it with the dogs but keep picking up the clulite instead!

Hi Ace, Not managed to get hold of Lil'gun, I do plan on using it with some berger 30's that I've got. They need a lot of powder to stabilise properly, and I'm starting to get pressure signs with the 110. The 110 does do the business with the 40s, doesn't seem to like the lighter ones so much. Hopefully getting some Lil'gun over the weekend so will report back! James

Aye but you can use the cases several times, especially if you use mildish loads and neck size only. So, cases £30/hundred = 30p each, 5 reloads which is conservative but makes the maths easy! = 6p per load Nosler BT's - £20/Hundred = 20p per load Primer - £3/100 = 3p per load Powder - H110, £36/lb,700 loads = 5p Total - 34p a bang, or £34/100 I get more like 6-8 reloads per case, and Noslers are expensive bullets too - I load berger 30grainers for bunnies, they bring the cost down to more like £26-£30 per hundred. The HMR has to be the most overhyped cartridge around. For a 150 yard, still air bunny gun when you don't want to homeload fair enough, but no more than that. Ammo cost versus performance is ridiculous, terminal ballistics very variable, ammo QC seems iffy, and they DO richochet. Not a calibre I'll ever have room for in my cabinet - .22lr and .22 hornet plus reloading gear makes so much more sense. James

Mid -90's I think - called the Nikko MRE - Multi-reticle-something or other. They did the 3-9x40 and a 1.5-5x20 IIRC - I saw one of the 1.5's on a .308win, it was used for driven boar. A mate's got one on one of his rimmies too - quite nice, but the crosshair seemed a wee bit thick for my liking. James

Ultra here, I love it's so short for shooting out of the truck, very accurate too. Comes with a moddy as standard, but it's not brilliant to be honest. That's the only fault I can find tbh, shot count is lowish at 30 or so but who shoots more than 30 bunnies with an airgun? Easy to charge up from a pump too. James

You'll be wanting 6's then. Make sure you buy good quality ones, some of the cheap copies are at best illegal, at worst inhumane. Fenn, Springer, and Solway are three of the specifically approved ones. There may well be others. It's pretty simple to do, harder to do well. As said, what size you after and what you trapping? I've just gone over to magnums for rats last winter and found them fantastic, hoping to try them on bunnies this week. James

It's the usual thing mate, a few bad apples spoiling it for everyone. I can think of 3 keepers who keep lurchers (myself included), but against that, every keeper I know has had problems with lurchermen poaching, and when it's your livelihood at risk, it's easier and safer to say no. Might be worth trying to get to know the keeper through a bit of beating etc first, so he knows he can trust you. James

Thankyou for the apology. Fully appreciate the point about being responsible for ensuring that the ground is 'passed' if you don't have an open ticket. The point I was trying to make though was that the land is never licenced, the person is. Therefore I (because I have an open certificate - which I only got because of my business) could shoot on the land in question with my .243 if I so chose, assuming I had permission of course. Certainly sounds like he was in breach of his certificate conditions. Keeper does sound like a bit of a nob! Regards, James
