  1. hiya folks, new this year to ferreting, never used a mk1,but the lads i go with been doing it for 20 odd years, and all swear by the mk 1,i got a new mk3m,with the smaller collars, works ok,takes some getting used to though, but it only lasted 1 and a 1/2 trips, then broke,so off to deben for there opinon, hope they are as quick with there warranty repairs as there price increases, robbing b******s,the mk3m collars work with the mk1 boxs ok,good job, when your ferts 6 foot down and your box goes off,on a 20 holer, but the lads who persevere with the mk3 eventually find them ok,just a lot more messing ab
  2. hiya bud,the main difference is the weight, the varmint is a lot heavier, espcially if you do a lot of walking about i have the cz 452 style, and a brno mod 2e,and they are as acurate as anything you can put a bullet through, win subs or eley,no probs, and with a sak on the end silent as it gets,so bolt action gets my vote, atb, ian
  3. make sure you dont switch the collar off.like i did,first time out on sunday,i got the mk3m,with magnetic switch,what a f**k on,never mind got to learn,ian
  4. hiya bud,its hard going at the mo,ground solid, had my young jill out on sunday for the first time, she done well, bolted a couple,so well happy, ended up with her sister aswell,so now got 2 little buggers, but at least they both make an efffort, just need bringing on,hard work, and lots of patience, but its a day out, gonna give them a day out on my own permision at the end of the month, some good sets up there, ian
  5. hiya sterry, you should put all your land down to be cleared,as you wont get an open fac,not first time anyway,so you can only shoot on land that has been cleared,as suitable for that calibre, might be diffirent up there but not much,,oki doki, tea time, ian
  6. hiya, its my first year on the ferts,go out with some seasoned, lads, top fellas, there ferts are all laid back, top workers,my two are this years young, hyper or what,i found if i just leave em to it they come out through the net,and just pick em up,had young cameron out yesterday with us and he kept grabbbing at mine,i tol;d him leave it alone, let it come out and pick her up gently, wouldnt listen till he made a grab, and the little tinker, bit his finger, well some people just wont be told,it was her first time out,so she kept peeping, and running, back, bolted 2 or 3,so happy for a first trip, worked
  7. hiya,if the land has not been passed, the local feo will have to inspect it,my land was passed up to ,22,but i wanted .223 for fox,and i had to go on my land with the feo for an inspection, that was northumbria feo, could be different where you are,but the land will have to be checked for suitability, for any fire arm,oki doki, ian ps,got the ,223 passed no probs,as long as the land is ok
  8. try this site aswell, dont make the trigger too light,as its very easy to do with these kits,as you never know, when you may fall over or drop the rifle, allways do the drop test after you adjust your spring, apart from that they are a doddle to do,5 min job, enjoy, ian http://fuzzylimey.net/projects/452triggermods.html
  9. its an old site,i phoned them weeks ago,all excited,never mind,was a nice thought
  10. jus bought a mk 3 of them today, bagnal&kirkwood over at n/cle,best price i have seen,£128 pounds, just been having a play with it,just got to get the little tinker interested in it now,let the fun begin, heres my little tinker, http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/i...32/CIMG2521.jpg
  11. class song on your profile Magwitch, cheers, ian
  12. was a total whiteout up where we were, was snowing on the sat night, was that light we didnt need the lamp to shoot, just used the scopes, was fun but not much about,if it stays mild will be on my permision on sat night, having a go without the lamp again,if its still covered in snow,,on the sunday it was mild, but had to do a lot of diggng as the bunnies just wouldnt bolt, ferts kept getting 2 and 3rabbits holed up,never mind kept us warm, ian
  13. took young cameron for a day out with the ferts,up on the moors, was a hard day,the buggers wouldnt bolt, too cosy in the sets, never mind luck of the draw,he was a bit cold, but has lot to learn, and has to start somewhere, think he enjoyed it,got a few rabbits, frost bite, and a day out, will have to see if we put him off or not, heres a few pics,of the day and one of my new tinka jill, enjoy, http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/i...32/CIMG2543.jpg yep, that,s a hole cameron, http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/i...32/CIMG2542.jpg wheres the lad gone, http://i220.photobucket.com/albu
  14. as pipmoff said, you need land to shoot on first,or be a member of a club, for a while, they have a probation period i think at most clubs though, and yep you have to put your permision on your aplication, allso cant go wrong with a cz 452 .22,as acurate any one can shoot, cheap to buy and cheap to run on subsonic,s,16" barrel is nice and short, spot on for out the 4x4 window, and shoots spot on,nice and light, and solid as you can get, well thats my opionion, dont know what all the bunnies think, well not a lot now, they all pies, atb ian
  15. hiya bud, where you get those tyres from, need a set fo the paj, mine are getting down a bit now,and a bit too wide for me,gonna change rims ,and go thinner, should be a lot better, catch you later, ian
  16. top dog&air rifle fella

  17. hiya bud,i have a cz 452 style .22 16" barrel, and a mod 2e brno,21" i think barrel and there is no difference in accuracy, but the 16" is a lot easier when shooting out the cab,and just a little bit lighter, unless you go for .17 with a varmint barrel they are heavy,so overall the shorter barrel is spot on for shooting out the 4x4,but a longer barrel makes no difference to accuracy, oki doki, ian
  18. hiya peeps,i have the cz 452 style .22, 16" barrel, and a .22 mod 2e brno, with sak mod,use win subs all the time, tried eleys the other week,in both guns, metal and plastic 5 shot mags, and they just dont feed very well at all, front of bullet bending upwards when feeding,so jamming,so was a bit worried about useing them, dont know what caused this to happen, might be me being too easy on the bolt, might try them again this weekend, bought 50,still got 35 left, will do a bit paper punching for a bit fun,i zero my rifles at 19 yds,to give a 53yd zero and dont miss too many, got a brooks on the style,2nd
  19. hiya jamie,i will second that ,they are class to use and being so thin you can stick them in your side pockets on your combats,or anywhere, only carry 30 rounds though,so 2 or 3 better to have, plus when you lie down on them you have no worries, cheers, ian

    bio

hiya folks, any one up here durham way make their own bio fuel yet, just been to top up ,and as usual pissed off at what you get for your hard earned, robbing twats or useing waste veggie oil, cheers, ian
  21. how you getting on with the cz style,i have the same gun and it shoots spot on,i have the brooks kit on mine as the trigger out the box can be silly heavy, and cause you to struggle to get good groups, especially if your used to air rifle triggers,i got my brooks kit direct from usa, took a week and about £8.00 allin, and it is a doddle to fit, just be sure to do the drop test, and you dont allways need to put the pins in,mine is spot on with just a spring change, but went off on the drop test with a pin,on the same spring, just mess about,it will improve your shooting big style, and you soon be doing
  22. hiya smudge,i have the cz 452 .22 style, and what can you say, silent deadly, acurate as out,16" barrel, spot on walking or out the mitsi, trigger is heavy out the box, stick a brooks on,and as light you want, and it gets better after a few hundred rounds to bed it in,have,nt tried the other ones, but no need to spend hundreds more, just for a name, for an out and out bunnie basher, that wont let you down, get the cz,mine shoots win subs all night long, dont know about holes paper at 50 yds n stuff, prefer to bag up on bunnies,if i miss, its me not the cz,thats my viewthese class rifles, atb, ian http://i2
  23. hiya keith,i know how you feel, especially if you got bunnies to carry,i just got me 2.5 pajero,no more walking, swb but plenty room for me and a bud,go for it atb,ian http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/ianace32/e420_1.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/ianace32/e3c5_1.jpg
  24. hiya bud,i just put my 1.5x5x20,onto my cz 452 .22,and it is the buisness, had a nikko thing but they are shite, well mine is,wont hold zero, and crap on the lamp, cant go wrong with a wtc, class scopes,i will be putting another one on when get rid of the nickko, cheers, ian
