  1. Can you not find a rough type lurcher x lurcher dog to use? One of them over a coursing bitch always seems to get decent results
  2. Pre ban of course did they do foxes & all 6 species of deer these pures
  3. Try it let me know how it goes ?
  4. That’s right it’s not the guns that’s the problem it’s them that’s too trigger happy and can’t leave anything alone
  5. You’ve misunderstood, what I mean is a dog without a bit of greyhound blood in it won’t be catching much bigger than a rabbit on a regular basis
  6. I like whippets but if we’re talking anything bigger than rabbits they’ll miss more than they catch. That’s nothing against them because they’re not bred for bigger stuff, but you reckon you could catch plenty hares deer or foxes with one before the ban came in?
  7. Without greyhounds none of us would hardly catch anything bigger than a rabbit
  8. Way things are now mate with a lot of tracks closed down not as many going around, it’s a shame to see the way the racing circuits gone in the UK
  9. I hunt Oct - Feb to be as fair as possible. Drove away and left dogs as well I wouldn’t embarrass myself defending people like that
  10. Big difference going out in winter when you get the odd freak early birth & knowingly hunting heavily pregnant quarry or stuff with dependant young at this time of year. Its wrong in my eyes & I wouldn’t be defending them if courts threw the book at them
  11. Shooting men are worst of the lot
  12. No sympathy for them to be honest badger could have young this time of year deserve all they get
  13. Cracking looking dog looks nice & well put together not like a lot of the fragile types
  14. That’s a big fault for me some people don’t care but I couldn’t have a dog that can run but is a nightmare to live with, got to be able to work as a team with the dog. To be fair I’ve always found the nervy ones never make much good anyway you’ll get odd exception but not many
  15. I’ve always fed tripe as part of a dogs diet but it has to be fresh green tripe with plenty of fat on, not the minced pet shop stuff. Don’t think any 1 meat is the way forward a good mix of tripe, chicken & a red meat either beef or lamb with fish a few times a week is the way I like to do it, added to a decent biscuit with a couple of extras
  16. Wouldn’t say so mate I reckon a coursing bred only has the edge on hares, everything else they’ll come second to a good purpose bred saluki x lurcher mix, but there’s nothing wrong with that they are only bred for hares after all
  17. Loads cheaper than buying milk & it’s a supplement really for orphan lambs so got plenty of vitamins in it
  18. I use that lamlac powdered stuff a lot, keeps them hydrated because they drink as much as you put down & it’s calorie dense with a good vitamin content so helps keep condition on them. I started using it for pups but adult dogs liked it so just kept them on it as well they get a few bowls a week in winter
  19. Gave dogs cows milk in the past never had an issue. 1 particular bitch was a big fan of cheese too and it never did her any harm now and again. In relation to your above post that Millie’s wolfheart is good gear they sell it near me
  20. 10 months old & never been round sheep though could be a bit of a liability
  21. Good post, think it’s a bit unfair to compare to 2, same quarry but totally different hunting. The old saying horses for courses springs to mind.
  22. Best way to do it get a bitch pup off a good bitch you’ve seen run and breed your own, it’s the only way you can be 100% what you’ve got in the kennel because even some decent lads can let kennel blindness get the better of them
  23. Most people will breed off anything, I’ve known dogs to pull up in front of the owners eyes and they just pretend they’ve not seen it then dog goes on to be bred from. Then you’ve got your internet legends get took out once a week but the owner & his mates come on here and make them out to be something their not, people use it at stud based on what they’ve heard without seeing it run then can’t understand why pups are no good.
  24. In the past 4 weeks you’ve had a terrier for sale, lurcher for sale & looking for a Labrador pup, typical messer better off not having dogs at all
