  1. Some people would offer you about £50, but if you really want to sell it rather than use it, I would guess with patience it would make £600. There are a few of these about, still in very good nick (and lots that are rustbuckets) and folks seem willing to pay a reasonable amount for them. There may be sticking brake problems after standing for so long, but parts are easily obtained if required. A seal kit for a disc brake is about a tenner. Tyres may be found perished etc, best thing is to have it tested and see what getting it on the road is going to cost.
  2. All the cheaper guns you mention, work ok and can produce good results. The big three of the popular premium makes, Beretta, Browning and Miroku, can all feel better in the hand than the budget guns. For my money though, for balance, feel and smooth swing, nothing equals a 686 series Beretta. Don't buy in haste, wait for a used Beretta in your price range to come along.
  3. Well said Chris, strongly worded and right to the point. There have been some ridiculous posts recently, and as someone who has used airguns for about 50 years without any trouble, I don't want to be ranked alongside these people.
  4. I thought he was just writing in the snow!! Tip--- NEVER eat yellow snow!!
  5. For a big choice and trial packs of assorted pellets try the pellpax website. I posted this in the airgun section a couple of weeks ago. Don't know if anyone has tried them yet?
  6. Jeremy Vine frequently annoys me with his opinions and silly questions. In this case though, he was probably saying the right thing. Although only 13 episodes of Bagpuss were made from 1974, he was voted this year as Britain's best loved children's character!! Not bad for a "saggy old cloth cat" as he was described.
  7. Ivor the Engine!!! Always a favorite, then enjoyed it all again with the kids!! Top man.
  8. Sounds like you have plenty of sport to look forward to hily. Good luck when you do get out mate.
  9. Drilling goats from a Heli with a military rifle is nothing like my idea of hunting. Not exactly stalking to get in position for a shot, is it?
  10. New member of the family? I take it you have a baby in the house, so the dog has got to go? I hate to see posts like this, my kids have grown up never knowing the house without at least two dogs in it.Never had a problem with babies and dogs in the house. I hope you find a good home for the dog.
  11. My permission has no keepers to put out black rabbits. There are plenty on there though, I see babies in the summer and adults. None of the blackies have ever had mixy. I think it must be 3 years since I last saw a mixy infected brown one.
  12. I don't know of any specialist Suzuki breakers "oop north", but there probably is one. If you go on suzuki4u.co.uk you may get some local information. I'm with webber on this, I would not consider the work of a engine type change, without having a look inside the sickly one. The head gasket blowing is quite common on Vitara's, and is not a big job if no other problems are apparent.(Not unknown for cracking between the centre cylinders, this scraps the block really) As the cambelt has to come off, most folks change this at the same time. A company called Rhino Rays sells (I think) a conversion
  13. Not quite right I don't think. This amount of debt is so huge now, your grandchildren will be paying it back when we are long gone!!

    muck boots

I have some muck boots, not sure what style they are, just black, I have had them about three years. I have never had cold feet since buying them, but I tend to wear them rolled down "compo" style (last of the summer wine), because my legs tend to get too warm.
  15. Yes, some very nice colours Tis TM. A sort of "floor of the woods" shot. Apart from the holly sprigs in two corners, I haven't a clue what it all is though!!
  16. Thanks 4 your concern geoff just to the left of the pic about a foot and half there is a box full of saw dust where the dogs are very comfortable and secure! Geoff you should not give dogs chocolate its toxic to them You are right Whitey, I should have said the middle bit of a mars bar, they usually suck the choc off before the dogs get it. Glad you have the comfort box in the van, I can see some of the sawdust in the picture. I just hate to see dogs in vans without even a bit of mat to grip on.
  17. Similar symptoms can happen to gun dogs too, when having a busy day picking up. Several of the handlers in the picking up line, where my wife goes, swear by giving their dogs a couple of custard creams or a third of a mars bar at the lunch break. Whitey, I can't see any carpet or anything in the van for the dogs to lie on?
  18. Recorded delivery is just that, Recorded. The speed of delivery is no faster. DM, sorry you are disappointed, but I think you should PM the bloke rather than public post really. He has now been called all sorts of bad names and if the recorded item has gone astray, is he going to be bothered to follow it up now? It may turn up on Monday morning anyway.
  19. Hey JPT, your terriers would look good in that little pink number!!
  20. Thought this may be of interest, have just seen an advert today for pellets. Anyone with a new air rifle may be wondering about what pellets to get. A company called Pellpax at Oasis, are offering 38 different types of pellet with targets for £18 inc postage for .177. There are 34 different for .22 and cost £19 delivered with targets. View their catalogue at www.pellpax.co.uk They are in Cromer, Norfolk, but deliver guns etc countrywide. Hope this is some use, you regular air gunners may already know of these people, I did not until today. Mind you, when I do get out my air rifle, I just u
  21. I have been amazed at the NFU this year. My daughter's horse became lame, the cause was a mystery. He has ended up being transported to Newmarket and back, loads of tests and treatment involved. The NFU were much more helpful than I expected and they paid promptly for the lot. I will be checking them out when the Jeep is ready for insuring again. Very nice people!!!!
  22. Usually, permission to shoot/ferret or whatever is free. There is mutual benefit in that the land owner loses some vermin, and the hunter gets to practice field craft and take away the bounty, paying only for the bullets or equipment. Now I don't know what a hawker would count as a good day out. So I am guessing that with a single bird, he will perhaps take four or five rabbits in a session, and need plenty of room to fly in daylight. He is aware then, if my estimate is near right, that no significant impact will be made on the rabbit population, but he will have had a good day out. For that
  23. I wonder why you are asking about it? Has the film been on TV recently? I last watched it quite some years ago, I think it was in black and white? Can't fully remember the story now, but it was a nice enough film, a crafty fox and country life when Britain was still great.

    BABY P.

According to the Mail, the sick bitch of a mother has had another baby (girl) while awaiting trial. There were some who wanted to let her keep it, in case they were accused of abusing her "yuman" rights!!! Luckily, sense has been seen, and it's been taken away. I would like to see these people taken out and shot, they are just a waste of oxygen, and will never be any use.
  25. Hadn't thought of that. I have read that flat coats can be "slow to mature". Are working golden retrievers more slender than show trains like working labs tend to be compared to show labs? its finding a working strain retreiver....as for the flat coat i know a guy who has some close to me mike addison horrible w a n k stain of a bloke!!! i wouldnt kennel one for fun!!! useless aggrssive hard mouthed and thats just the begining lol..... they were the most popular retreiver in europe during the 1920's theres a reason theyre almost extinct now!!! for a peg dog look no further than a goo
