  1. Thinking about it, I think that trap does say 'Patent' on it somewhere. Mr Wasp can confirm as I suspect he's sleeping with the fecking thing....
  2. /\ /\ /\ What he said /\ /\ /\ Sorry, I added a bit into my very basic post because at the time of writing I had the phone tucked under my head and was busy shouting at someone
  3. Moisture Moisture = worms. Worms = food. Food = activity. Activity = a good chance of catching I also find that in gardens, washing lines and trampolines are great places to trap
  4. I really want to be out working instead of being stuck here on the phone to Three Mobile...

  5. There is not need to go too far up the runs to clean out if you open the run up carefully The most common fault I see when setting mole traps is the way some folks open up They tend to go in heavy handed with a big garden spade and make a hole you could bury a dog in, pushing soil and stones up the tunnels in the process and then spend ten minutes trying to rebuild the run and clear all the crud they've pushed up the runs Just my opinion lads Oh, and I use the handle of my probe (the Talunex type probes) to clear out the run
  6. Sorry guys, but I have to draw the line at giving detailed instructions on mole trap setting on a public forum There are more than enough idiots out there offering courses to train the next generation of competitors What I will say is that there is already more than enough information about using these traps available in DVD form and in books and online
  7. That's what I thought OTC Am I right in thinking that as this trap is only stamped Duffus, it's one of the later 'Jolly' versions? It's a real shame the modern makers don't take a look and see where they've gone wrong.
  8. I suspect its fair share, but its previous owner never cared for it like a respectable trap owner would have. But fate lent its had this time and said trap found a new home here, with me and is now loved like it should be. You could never love that baby like me (it's rightful owner) does Just keep it nice and safe; daddy will be along for it very soon
  9. That's a question that's impossible to answer You see, I spent years, yes, years, trying to find a genuine JND trap. That one came from a dealer about three or four years ago and it's at least 45 years old I paid good money for it; and I've never regretted it. When you look at it, and feel it in your hands, you know it was made with a purpose in mind that was little to do with making money from it's initial sale; and much to do with it's capability when correctly placed in a mole run.
  10. It's a thing of great beauty Moxy It's only when you get your hands on it, and feel the quality that you realise what a disgrace all the modern copies are.... More than 45 years old and it would catch today if I was brave enough to risk soiling the little darling
  11. God it's like the ten second 'freeview' on here tonight Get that beauty back up Paul; this modern stuff is making me all.................... limp
  12. It's 'kleenexOclock' here......... Now lads; that's a proper trap
  13. I can't 'like' a moderator post, so you'll have to settle for a
  14. Go on Pauley........ I know you really want to share those Duffus Porn photos on here as well as faceache...... I've taken your advice mate ordered 10 Genuine Talpex last night and had the text confirmation that they will be with me on Monday..... That'll learn those little barstewards that think they can soil my precious Duffus traps blocking them up

    Poacher Fined

Off 'her' what? I think anyone stupid enough to chase a keeper all the way to the nick is quite likely to be stupid enough to leave deer tangled up in a wire fence
  16. That's very much a matter of opinion The original half barrel trap, as designed and developed by Mr John Newton Duffus was the culmination of mole trap evolution over a century and a half. In my humble opinion, nothing has ever proved it's equal for simplicity and catch ability and I very rarely find a run it won't go in. They say that imitation is the greatest compliment; I only wish those doing the imitation actually understood what they are knocking off......... The only trap that has really revolutionised mole catching since 1922 is the Talpex; which any fool can use with
  17. Alright lads, we've all had a bit of fun...... The original poster is probably just trying to drum up a bit of work by posting anywhere and everywhere; not realising that there are probably more mole catchers on here than there are moles in South Yorkshire.... Anyway, time to put this one to bed me thinks...
  18. I've got a GPS, but not only is it too slow for me, by the end of the day it looks like a very muddy brick. I can print out as many maps as I like and if they end up being soggy muddy mush it doesn't really matter.
  19. I've got a couple of thousand acres you can do for me. I'm not paying more than £1.50 per mole though
  20. I think you've hit the nail on the head there mate Only two things really interest moles; food and sex A bit like molecatchers really............. They're only really at risk from predators when they are above ground (except stoats and weasels I suppose), so I reckon they concentrate on what's most important to them most of the time
  21. Please ignore the very wrong information being posted here. The owner of a cat has the same rights to his or her animal regardless of where it is, and they can't be held liable for it's actions. Don't believe me? Fine, that's your affair But the armchair lawyer on here needs to read a little more and spout a little less
  22. I'm just a visitor here, otherwise I'd have my usual Superman bed clothes on
  23. Constantly SHOUTING won't make you right. Google it all you like; just make sure it's UK law you are quoting Cats are property and remain so wherever they are Trust me, I'm right on this one lads
  24. That's called 'discretion'. Police rarely use it these days The fact that you were not prosecuted doesn't mean an offence wasn't committed
