Poodle history The poodle was originally developed as a hunting dog. The dense, tightly curled fur was developed to be nearly waterproof, and they were used as a retrieving dog. This is where the "show" coat had its foundation. Hunters used a much shorter version of the "foofy" clip. The hair was left longer around the internal organs, joints of the legs and top of the head to protect against the effects of cold weather and cold water. Im new to lurcher and thought i would need summat with a bit more sight hound in but after talking to a few people who know there stuff it seems i was wrong, Are 1stx beddy good with kids would ya say? And yeah, a very good price, if i do end up with her will be taking some eggs and homebrew up. He has every right to ask for a lot more.(should keep my mouth shut!) Cheers He who hesitates..... I was walking the other day with my Whippet off lead... she was being steady and kept close.. gamekeeper stopped in his little truck with a passenger brandashing his big 12bore.. told me to keep her on lead as she will upset the birds... off they went... a minute or 2 later you could hear the bangs of the shotgun (pressumably rabbits) with partridge taking flight. Am I missing something? Would me little whippet who takes no interest in birds be more of a disturbance than a 12bore blasting rabbits? But I smile sweetly

I don't think its the size that counts in this instance but speed and stamina. You've lost a lot of speed with 50% Beddy and in My opinion would struggle on daytime in the big open fields. Thats a lovely type tho.... and I am seriously considering one for rabbiting and ferreting Will be interesting to see the replies

Willow has turned 2 today and I have to say she has been a dream to have around.. from a little pup shes never been a problem... much.. Thought I'd put some pics of her on to show how shes grown.. The early days.. 1st time in the slips with her litter Brother... Never been a fussy eater.. will eat anything.. Shes sociable and loves to run with others.. Shes not keen on the North sea... But loves to Wallow in a ditch.... Lovely.... :sick: Cliffhanger...
