Had another pb tonight , went out for an hour or two fish quite hard walked a mile of canal , put a big lure on when I headed back nothing..., had a couple of last ditch attempts at bridge and caught a small jack, so called it , started walking back to car and thought I'd have a couple of chucks in the little reed filled swims where the tench and silver fish guys have a go.. second swim a light knock which got my attention, I let the lure drop and then started to retrieve again and bang, biggest fight I've had , had my lightest rod bent in half about six times took me in the reed beds both sid

Sounds like an exciting trip mate, plenty of freedom. I've not been to the states yet probably wait until the boys are a little older. South appeals although I've family in Vermont, don't think it would be much fun Christmas time lol. My standard thing is try and be spontaneous, at the same time as thoroughly organising everything you definitely want to do , I use Google review , TripAdvisor etc, with young kids I can't be particularly spontaneous outside of a random food or crabbing adventure lol. Make the most of it , plan rest days as sounds a long trip , I know you'll have a blast, also I'

I was looking after a mates birds, noticed one of the drinkers was split so went in a barn to find another and boom, right next to my noggin it felt like my heartbeat was replaced with a flat line sound in my head , then someone else turned up with a shotgun as I was lent on the motor trying to compose myself, thankfully a blank but bloody hell fire...

I'd also say have 3 or 4 chicks and walk on , if you get a decent take leave it and come back I normally fish in on direction and on the return walk I swap lures ...
