Surplus kitchen appliances are my nemesis, after a very serious clear out of our tiny kitchen, four or five binbags of shite that never got used...so then this Panini grill thing appears, I got no space I can't put into words my annoyance, I slung it into a side board and it keeps appearing , so this morning I spoke about it opened up , said how it feels like a personal attack on my mental health, she just laughed at me, but it got moved, until the next bloody appliance....

Some nice gravel in the gaps? Too hot for that, I just been down the river to give dogs a dip , lost me unopened baccy , lurcher bolted for a mini river hunt just to get my blood pressure up after doing five laps looking for baccy , nice relaxing walk, bloody me , bloody dogs , bloody heat ?? I'm off back to work next week, need the rest lol.

I like these crosses, easy life , good fun, no major dramas yet. I've a cocker x patt, got some querks but all in all been a good dog. Lurcher bitch I have will be my last runner , I've not done them justice work wise , the busher is as happy hunting mice easy to have off lead, definitely something I'd have another of whether I'd use mine as a stud or something else I'm not really fussed , I'd like one over a Russell or similar terrier. Obviously this is pie in the sky currently but when life slows just a tiny bit then haha....

Had another go yesterday, think I've sowed a few seeds....

I shredded the left over brisket , had it in pittas with chopped tom and cumber salad and homemade garlic sauce/mayo. Fed six of us, very tasty, so had 11 meals so far and still enough for a few more pittas, doesn't seem as expensive now , about £3 a plate.

Not sure the weight of that brisket. Burnt ends , that's the tail of a fillet yep? No fat so do you just keep basting them? Something sticky like a chilli and honey type thing?
-
Cheers , I like the idea of it and it gets thrown into all different meals the youngest likes it and he's not the biggest meat eater . I'd have to say my favourite is the belly pork and pork shoulder steaks on the bbq as for the smoking I did a couple of brisket , pork collar was decent, ribs are good too. I'm a bit bbqd out lol. Happy just to cook these lots wings and stuff.

I'm out of likes and takes hours to have a list approved but pics look great guys, here's lunch, brisket, Mac cheese and allotment corn which has given to me stuffing myself sat here drinking cold milk with meat sweats....

I'm still in pain from stuffing my face...

Ive ordered organic belly pork and few other things mail order, I won't repeat it though. Meat wasn't upto much. I use a local place called butchr. He's expensive in my view , especially for ribs and such like but does a booming trade. I try and use a local butcher for general meat , although when travelling past Costco I tend to stock up they do excellent British good quality meat , salt and chilli belly pork is a fav but it's all excellent stuff, from tomahawks to brisket and steaks or decent sized wings and thighs.

One of the unexpected bonuses of that ceramic I got is having two young kids and a small garden they're not gonna burn themselves on it, my posts are having to be moderated so I'm behind the conversation by about four hours lol. Smoking is more of a science , BBQ is a bit more fun imho.

Careful what you wish for ?

Mate uses a meteor , uses same grill as me , takes temp sends info to app on phone, it's clever stuff, but I've never been tempted to use one, tbh I like smoking big meat now and again but my passion is removing the ceramic heat deflector and having a good ol' BBQ . Can get the meat so far from coals can shut the lid and chill have a beer then open vents and fire it up.
-
Resting brisket, got to knock up some Mac cheese now apparently....
-
I've chucked in again, as you say only a beer , and weekend is here. ?

Kannys offerings do look extremely tasty, I like the ceramic but if I go over to a metal one I'll probably make something or have one made. I've not looked at the pellet smokers I'll have a Google....

I like coals, and don't normally do a 14hr cook over night, if I want the easy life I smoke chicken or pork etc then it's lid down and forget it but tbh I prefer it bbqd more heat and more marinade dipping. The brisket is something I wanted to try , but only repeating as kids love it, that lump on there now was £40 so bit dear for me to do regularly.

Bloody thing went out, lol. Back in the game now, better than burning it though I guess , should be good for early lunch now.
