  1. Lovely dog! I’m the same now last few years mainly stick to rabbits and odd hare here and there I like the smaller dogs they do the job for me
  2. I’ll start. My father got this bitch off a traveller when she was around 1 year old I was about 12/13 at the time we never fully knew what was in her just told it was beddy whippet with a bitta Greyhound but my god she was some dog for rabbits day and night definitely the best dog I’ve ever owned to catch a rabbit be it a straight course across an open field, down rough terrain or in woodland she always seemed to make a catch. She took good few hares too on the lamp and took a few in the day too but I wasn’t interested in daytime hares and where I am in Ireland the fields are all small to
  3. I think the right pat put to a whippet bitch on the larger side of 20-21” would produce tidy little game dogs that would be fearless. I personally would love to see one in action around small fields and cover
  4. Looks solid out say she’d take a slap off a ditch no bother
  5. Is that galgo fully grown at 24” TTS? Very interesting I thought they’d be similar height to a grey. Looks a beauty of a dog I’d say it would put away a lot of what you put in front of it
  6. That’s it! I think second and third gen first crosses can produce that bit extra pace but it all depends. Would like to see a pacey beddy whippet put to a strong leggy Beddy grey id say they produce tidy rabbiting dogs for both day and night
  7. I agree too I’ve had first cross Beddy whippet in the past and they are great over 40/50 yards but anything past that they come lacking compared to other crosses. My current pup is a Beddy whippet but it’s bred from good few generations of Beddy whippet I’ve seen to got a bit lucky as she’s a good bit quicker than your standard first cross and seems to keep that pace up a lot longer too
  8. Always loved Beddy Grey seem to be a better alrounder than the smaller Beddy whippet
  9. Cheers mate hopefully she keeps progressing now and does the business come September happy with her at the moment no shortage of speed on her anyway haha
  10. A rabbit dog that can both do it on the lamp and work the day ferreting or running for bushers what ye reckon?
  11. I suppose any cross with decent take off speed and agility should do well on bunnies
  12. Hoping this one does the job come September on the rabbits. 10 months old at the moment line bred Beddy whippet she’s 20” TTS doubt she’ll get any bigger but mad keen and a little rocket
  13. I’d say for rabbits a Grew, Beddy/whippet, beddy/Grey or straight whippet won’t go far wrong with them
  14. Anyone any pics of this cross? Would be a cracking rabbit/bushing type
  15. Been reading this forum for a while only got round to making an account now haha Have a line bred beddy Whippet pup she’s 10 months old hopefully she does the job now can’t wait for September she’s 8 months old in this pic
