  1. Yeah I getcha just wondering as most Greys I’ve seen have been absolute demons on fox I definitely think out of all the pure breeds of running dog Greyhounds are the best fox dogs
  2. Sounds like a solid type for lamping so! Do they have the same prey drive that a grey has? Would they barrel into teeth like a grey?
  3. Do they stay much longer than a grey Sandy? Lovely looking animals ??
  4. If they get along on the walk when you get them home I’d leave the new dog on a lead for the first hour and see how they take to each other in her territory after that if it’s all good leave him off and just keep an eye out for the day should be all good!
  5. Looks a cracker! Make some deadly little bunny basher and rat dog
  6. I do think your right as my self I have Beddy whippet cross from lurcher to lurcher breeding as those tend to be a safer bet than the straight f1 cross but maybe it’s just my curiosity taking over but I’d just love to see a good leggy pat put to a running dog see what happens they could be shite or they could be handy little rabbiters that wouldn’t think twice about flying into stuff
  7. Don’t see how the would be weedy?? Most black dogs I’ve seen are solid out robust fuckers. I get what your saying though as most breeding worker to worker lurchers is the best and easiest way to get good dogs, I’m only saying it would be interesting to see this cross in action and how they’d turn out as I have never seen one personally
  8. I still think fell or patterdale crossed to a grey would make handy dogs like a lot more game proven black dogs then beddys about
  9. That last pic is some cracking dog is that a pat x whippet
  10. I do an hour or so in the fields in the morning before work kicking a football about and flogging tennis balls for her to sprint at and retrieve also whatever else she chooses to run at then walk her on the lead at a decent pace in the evenings for a few miles. I do that most days seems to keep her in good nick. Then the weekends be more of a mooch about the fields get her used to the sights and smells.
  11. I suppose good and bad feet with every breed I’ve just known them to be more prone to foot injuries to others
  12. Whippets great for rabbits unless your working real rough terrain I’d prefer a cross with tougher feet so wherever I’d go the dog can work
  13. I like a small runner myself always have, maybe it’s bias as I never owned a lurcher over 25” ?
  14. Yeah it’s quite thick now we’ll see how it stands up now come November
  15. Lovey dog! My pup is years of crossing f1 Beddy whippets together the litters would throw few pups like mine with a in between coat mixture of broken and short.
  16. It’s like half way between short coat and broken coat
  17. My pup has it she’s few generations of Beddy whippet and has a smooth coat but it’s not totally short and thick skin
  18. Yeah I can imagine they were good type. Over here now it’s mainly wheaton crosses you’d see now out of the all the terriers
  19. It’s a pity there’s such a lack of them working coz I’d say the the first cross to a grey would make a great alround lamping and ferreting dog if from a good working Irish
  20. Yeah I’d say finding the right Irish terrier be a hard job
  21. Anyone run these or are they even any decent working Irish terriers left to produce from?
  22. Great looking pups! Any pics of parents?
