  1. Been there, seen it, done it, got the T shirt!!! I used to demonstrate longnetting at shows and the number of "experts" who told me how they would set their nets, go to the pub for the evening and go back to the nets and take the rabbits out was incredible. In the end I just used nod my head and say nowt! The big hole in your net could have been a badger but more likely a rabbit having a snack! A fronte precitium a tergo vulpes, descendos cunuculis in cavem!
  2. If it was that easy we wouldn't need to use ferrets to chase rabbits from the warrens into the nets! The rabbits will wander into it and chew their way out. Sometimes they get tangled and die slowly. Foxes and badgers will also get in the nets and make a right mess or kill the rabbits in the net and ruin it trying to eat the trapped rabbits or drag them away. If you are going to set a longnet and leave it, buy yourself a decent repair kit, you will need it!
