As far as I’m aware, the Typhoon and Tornado are still built in Preston. Maybe not 100% but in conjunction with France and Germany as the Eurofighter. British Engineers are in demand all over the world. Cheers.

BAE has over 100,000 employees working in over 40 countries and a backlog of almost £80 billion pounds. One of the most successful companies in the world. It has engineers in many disciplines, educated and trained in the UK. Do your research ! LOL ! Cheers.

Tell your young’un if he wants to be an engineer to get as much education as he can. The more qualifications, the better the job opportunities. Cheers.

Not sure, it was some time ago and I was a bit more interested in the deerhound pup, Cheers.

Met him a few times , I remember one time he had a deer cross and a pure deerhound pup with him. I think it was at the Jedforest Hunt Show. Nice lad. Cheers.

I thought you would be glued to the TV watching those two stranded astronauts being rescued by Elon Musk ? LOL ! Cheers.

I’m certainly no expert on HPR’s but I agree, I think the GSP and the GWP are different breeds , not the same breed with different coats. Cheets.

I love a dog that quarters a field looking for its own quarry, but I go back to the point of Pointers,( forgive the pun) , being bred to NOT run in on quarry. It’s in their genes, it goes against what they are bred for to run in. As you know, I’m in the North East, and I’ve seen one or two GWP crosses, and yes, they hunted up well but lacked the pace to be considered good on hare , fox, roe on these grounds, They may prove me completely wrong hunting fox on grounds like hills and mountains, but I maintain that they may be a specialist type, but not an “all round “ lurcher. Cheer

I’ve never understood why anyone would use a Pointer breed in producing a lurcher ? Yes, I’ve seen the odd good one, but most half cross running dogs will catch gear . The Pointer breeds have been selectively bred for over a hundred years NOT to run in on game, so what advantage do they bring to a cross that has to chase and catch ? Im certainly not knocking anyone who champions this cross, but not so long ago I was offered a gift of a well bred, 8 month old GSP bitch, and I was tempted , but after much thought, I turned it down as it would not have suited me for lurcher work or

To use a horse anology in reference to dogs; If I wanted a Derby winner; I’d get a non-ped whippet. If I wanted a Grand National winner; I’d get a deerhound cross If I wanted something to pull a milk cart ? I’d borrow my mates white dog, in his own words , it pulls all day ! Cheers.

Fully under control……unlike your dogs ! LOL ! Cheers.
-
You have to learn how to control your animals ! LOL ! Cheers.
-
That’s the trouble with “point and slip” dogs, pulling all the time. Cant be doing with that, dogs need at least a modicum of discipline. I blame the owners! LOL ! Cheers.

As you know, mate, I’m a keenly interested in the JFK assassination. Ive been to the Book Depository, stood on the grassy knoll and behind the picket fence, looked down on to Elm street from the triple overpass, and actual sat in the “snipers nest” on the 5th floor ! It’s the one event that I’m inclined to believe is a conspiracy; I. e. a conspiracy between two or more people to commit a crime. Will there be any earth shattering revelations in the material that’s being released ? I doubt it. But we can hope ! LOL ! Cheers.

I’d never heard of the old lad before today, but what a hero ! Shot down four times, one time his ‘chute didn’t open and he landed in a tree ! Him and his squadron downed over 90 enemy aircraft in a week. During the Battle of Britain, he was flying five sorties a day, at the age of 21 ! A hero, a true hero ! Cheers.

If I can handle 75lb , 29” of deer/grey, I think I could handle a plodder coursing bred ! LOL ! Cheers.
-
No, it’s fast for a lurcher but not as fast as a good class non- ped. Cheers.
-
Carefull mate, you’ll give my protege mC another clutcher with statements like that ! LOL ! Cheers.

Last two dogs, a teckel and a deer/grey, were gifted. One before that, a deer/grey, that I travelled to Manchester for, the lad wanted £250 but when he found out we had mutual friends, he insisted I only give him £200, then he gave me £20 back as “luck money”. One before that , a beddy type lurcher , was £120, best money I’ve ever spent on a dog, gave me years of work. The ones before that, a Doberman , deerhound X’s and various Salukis were all gifted. I never paid for any of the whippets I’ve had as they were bred by friends and family. So there’s plenty men will place
