    Let’s put it this way, I’ve consistently said a non-ped is the fastest dog over the sprint distance, 150-200 yards, you keep moving the goal posts. So, I’ll say one of your dogs, out of traps, on a race track will be well beaten by a top non- ped. An equal slip on a hare, the non- ped will beat your dogs over the first 100-150 yards, of that Im sure. I’m also sure that as the course goes goes on, you dog would take over and the non-ped would drop away.     I’ve had the pleasure of timing and handicapping the fastest dogs in the world over the sprint distance………and they weren’t Salukis ! What my protege doesn’t seem to understand is that nobody is disagreeing that the purpose bred saluki hybrid is the best daytime hare coursing dog, but they are not the best at everything ! I’ve seen non-ped whippets murder coursing bred dogs on the first couple of hares, but that’s it, the coursing bred will go on to run more and the non- ped will be finished; they aren’t bred to be stayers, as I’ve said , ad infinitum, they are bred with the sole purp

    Leave your house and arrive back at different times. Always keep at least a car length of space between you and the car in front. Vary your route, never go the same way twice.     I’ve consistently said that the NON-PED WHIPPET is the fastest dog in the world over a sprint distance, 150-200 yards. Now, you will come back and say “but the non-ped whippet has greyhound in it “, and I’d agree, but as you’ve said in the past that a coursing bred will beat a greyhound in the run up, that should be immaterial. If you’re not just on a wind up and honestly believe a coursing bred will beat a non-ped whippet over a sprint distance, I cant see the point in having the conversation. Cheers.

    Hamed Ghunaim, who made the film “Hounds Of Arabia”, gave me a dvd of himself and Sheik Maktoum flying their falcons on bustards. A pal gave me a dvd of him flying his Harris hawk on bolted rabbits. Worlds apart, but equally exciting and enjoyable ! Cheers.
