But we were very active ! LOL ! Nowadays it’s called “ADHD” ! Cheers.

Let me use “reductio ad absurdum” to counter your point; If America declared war on the UK and defeated us, it wouldn’t count as an American victory, as the American President, Trump, is half Scottish through his mother, Washington was more American than Trump. Cheers.

George Washington . His family were from Washington , Tyne and Wear. His ancestral home is still here; Washington Old Hall. Cheers.

The local council planted plum trees next to my allotment, (very nice of them), years ago, yellow, red and black, alternately, and there’s a community orchard a few hundred yards away with apples and pears, loads of blackberries, elderberries and sloes all around, so plenty of raw materials, but I’ve also made decent wine using Lidl’s 2 litre summer fruits juice. Demijohns waiting to be pressure washed and steam cleaned; Cheers.

I’ve never tried the flower but make a very decent elderberry. Ive had plum wine up around 16/17%; nice to drink, but not to recover from Cheers.

Half a teaspoon of sugar added to the bottle would give second fermentation but I was wanting to avoid sediments. I use Turbo yeast and Turbo finings and get excellent results with a high alcohol content. Just fancied a bottle of sparkling now and again. Cheers.

I looked into getting the modern one of those to put a fizz into my home made wine but they and the gas refills are bloody expensive. Not worth it. Cheers.

I’ve hunted in New Zealand, Texas, the Middle East, When my daughters friend Hamed Ghunaim invited to go to the UAE to visit his saluki kennels, I jumped on the first plane I could get ! When I was asked to judge the whippet show at Birr Castle in Ireland, I jumped at the chance, took a couple of lurchers with me and had a days coursing and a days fishing on the grand canal! I would go anywhere, any time to hunt or fish. Getting a bit old for it now, but not quite finished yet. The missus was in Finland a while back and was on about the ptarmigan shooting and ice fishing, so that’s o

They do it all; I went out with terriers bolting to the lurchers, walked up with lurchers and I went out with the Barwon Fox hounds. Those hounds are a mixed pack of English Foxhounds and Irish Beagles ,

Yes, mate, the land is huge, makes the fens look like my back garden ! Theres plenty of hares, but none of the lads I met were interested in them, they considered them pests. Also ,I’ve never seen a saluki or saluki x when I’ve been there. I’m sure there will be some, and the land is perfect for coursing, but I don’t know anyone who runs them. Cheers.

Yes , mate, I went out a few times with stag hounds and ‘Roo hounds, terriers and foxhounds. Cheers.

This just caught my eye; Very cheap pups. I’ve hunted around Ballarat, and although I’m not a fan of Airedale crosses, if I lived there I would be tempted to give one of these a go. Cheers.

Anyone remember this ? Cheers.

My brother worked for the local council for almost 50 years as a Health & Safety manager. He told me that years ago the council told the bin lorry drivers they would have to have H & S training as they were now to be responsible for the safety of the bin men and the public and they would have authority to hand out fines for putting the wrong rubbish in the bin. The drivers did this for a pay rise. Now the council wanted to renege on the deal and reduce their wages, just as Birmingham are doing. The entire council workforce, not just the bin men, said they would down tool

Evidently the military are not “emptying bins”. There are three logistic officers helping with the co-ordination of getting the rubbish removed. Cheers.
