  1. She’s in season now ! But I’ll not be having her mated, she’s just three years old. Cheers.
  2. This one was from Ireland; sired by the non-ped whippet/greyhound Memphis Belle, out of a deerhound bitch; Cheers.
  3. Yeah, I’d fancy a non/ped whippet x deer/grey sometime . Cheers.
  4. Like most others, there’s good and bad. They are very easy going and easy to live with. Of course there will be better rabbiting dogs, hare dogs, fox dogs, deer dogs, but I’ve found deer/greys can do all that to an acceptable degree without being the absolute best. They are also pleasing to the eye. In looks and style of running. They almost invariably breed true to type, so you’ll have a good idea of what you’re getting. They can be very slow to mature, but I’ve had some that were doing their job at 12 months. You pay your money and take your chances ! Cheers.
  5. I’m certainly not an expert on deer/greys, or any other type for that matter; I’m just an enthusiast of all working dogs. Cheers.
  6. Is that a genuine “ Buck” knife ? I bought one in America but unfortunately it was in one of my shipment home boxes that went walkabout. Great knives, hold an edge well. Cheers.
  7. Have you tried “Metrinch “ sockets ? I was gifted a set one Xmas by my daughters Canadian boyfriend. They grip the flats of a nut or bolt , not the points. They can get you out of trouble with worn fasteners. Cheers.
  8. I agree, but if you turned up at a Jet Propulsion Lab with Halford tools, you wouldn’t be allowed in ! If a tool failed and ingressed a jet engine it would cost a fortune to sort out. Something as simple as a wrenches chrome plating coming adrift and getting into an engine could have catastrophic consequences ! My tools such as micrometers, vernier gauges, torque wrenches, had to go to the calibration lab to be checked on a regular basis. But as I said, the cheaper alternatives are ok for DIY jobs. Cheers.
  9. I’ve been retired over 20 years , but I still have all my old tools, Proto, Blue Point, Stahwille , etc. but I still pick up what I call “ consumables “ from the likes of Lidl. Cheers.
  10. Exactly ! You get what you pay for. When I worked in the aircraft industry I only bought the very best of tools, but now, to hang a picture in the house, or do a small job at the allotment, the cheap gear is all sitting in my tool shed, there’s nothing worse in DIY than finding you need a certain drill bit or screw and having to drive to B&Q to buy one. That’s why I pick up bits and pieces from the likes of Lidl….i might never need them, but they are there for a simple, one off job . Cheers.
  11. I’m old enough to remember ripped jeans being a sign of poverty ! Cheers,
  12. I was in the Metro Centre yesterday, I don’t often go shopping, and I couldn’t help but notice the amount of people wearing Zavretti Canada gear, and I saw their baseball caps on sale for £25 !!! Is this another “in “ brand ? Cheers,
  13. I always had him down as a salt of the earth, working class lad that had, as most of us had, a rebellious adolescence, but grew out of it and became a reformed character….not a middle class snob who dresses up for “afternoon drinks” ! To misquote an American Base ball saying; “ Tell us it ain’t so, Bangers; tell us it ain’t so …..”. Cheers.
  14. The thought of Bangers getting dressed up for afternoon drinks with his good lady runs contrary to everything I’ve ever imagined about him ! Cheers.
  15. Banger is alright, he’s good fun and takes a bit of ribbing and has the comebacks. But he does seem to invite ridicule ! Cheers.
  16. But you reckon she’s happy to be seen out with you wearing clown boots ? You really are a lucky man, Bangers, she must really love you ! LOL ! It’s like when a wife asks you “does my backside look fat in this dress ?” , you never , EVER say “yes” ! LOL ! ”What do you think of my new boots , pet ?”…. “Yes , love , they are, err, different”. Anything to keep them happy !
  17. You HAVE to wear them in some of the boozers I used to frequent ….! LOL ! if I’d worn those clown boots, I’d have been laughed out of the place ! Cheers.
  18. Here’s my footwear, Bangers; Alteberg Defenders and U.S. Army jungle boots. Cleaned and dubbin’d after every use , Cheers.
  19. He sent me photos, model number and colour he wanted . If he had sent me all that for a pair of clown boots, I’d of disinherited him ! LOL ! Cheers.
  20. My grandson asked me to get these for him; I’d never even heard of them ! I guess nine year olds are more fashion conscious than their grandpa’s ! LOL ! Cheers.
  21. I pick up things like screw drivers, drill bits ,step drill bits, grinding and flapper discs, boxes of rivets, springs, jubilee clips ,etc. when I’m in Lidl. Not professional tools, but certainly good enough for odd D.I.Y jobs around the house and allotment. Cheers.
  22. Nah, mate, he’s getting on a bit now, he will be joining the THL Cantankerous Pensioners Club shortly ! LOL ! Cheers.
  23. You’re getting very confrontational lately, mate ! Too much of Ken’s influence perhaps ? LOL ! Cheers.
  24. A teaching union is to advise teachers to add to their curriculum that Reform is “far right and racist”. That is undemocratic and brainwashing kids. Schools should concentrate on the “three R’s” before religious and political dogma. Cheers.
