  1. Norway has never been a member of the EU. So it has never voted to leave something it was never in. Completely different to the UK which was a member and voted to leave. It has twice had referendums to join and voted against both times. It joined EFTA, a European free trade agreement, that’s why it is in the single market. Switzerland also had a bespoke agreement with the EU without being a member. The UK voted to leave in its entirety and should have done that. Joining EFTA and the single market could have been voted on after we left the EU but wasn’t considered suitable for
  2. There isn’t any book mate, just nonsense in his head ! He also claimed on Moochers to have written two of Darcy’s books for him…,Darcy came on Moochers and told the truth ….. the charlatan wasn’t seen on Moochers again ! Mans a fool and a liar. Cheers.
  3. I remember him saying he had lived and hunted with the Red Indians in America……It turned out he was there on holiday and had a game of pool with a redneck who claimed to have Indian ancestry ! Cheers.
  4. Don’t, please don’t ! LOL ! Cheers.
  5. I only seen two big staghounds on a long slip on a white tail buck and it ran away from them. Ive very little experience of our deer, I’ve only really ran roe and I’ve taken them with every running dog I’ve had from whippet to beddy cross to deerhound cross. A good pal of mine took me up Scotland one time and my nine year old deer/grey took a fallow doe , in the lamp , without any drama, so I can’t really comment on deer, mate . Cheers.
  6. No, I believe what I understand, I’ve had plenty of fruitless arguments with people close to me that voted to remain, I’ve had plenty of discussions on here that just go round in circles. If you believe different to me, that’s fine , as I say, I can accept that without agree with it. As far as I’m concerned, the Brexit I and millions of others voted for wasn’t implemented by the powers that be because it’s not what THEY wanted. Im sure you can find all the information you need on line. Cheers.
  7. No, I think you’ll find the motion was “to leave the EU and all its institutions “. I’ll not argue or dispute it , but that’s what I voted for. It’s an indisputable fact that mass immigration raises GDP but reduces GDP PER CAPITA. You may dispute it but no one else does. Anyhow, it’s just my opinion, others may have different opinions and I can respect them without agreeing with them . Cheers.
  8. The problem is we voted “to leave the EU and all its institutions “. We didn’t, because the establishment were remainers and Brexit has never been fully implemented. Both the Tory’s and Labour didn’t want Brexit, Cameron only allowed the referendum because he thought it would fail. The political cadre and civil service and legacy media have never accepted the vote and have tried everything to reverse it, this is just their latest move, they could stop mass immigration tomorrow if they wanted to, but the Treasury sees it as improving GDP, which it does , at the expense of GDP PER CAPITA .
  9. Dutch Salmon wrote some great books on American coursing. I was supposed to meet him when I was in Texas, but he had moved to New Mexico by the time I could get to Texas. I managed a day out with a pair of staghounds, only to see them get straight lined by a white tail buck on the only run of the day ! Cheers.
  10. The summit is on Monday . Starmer will sell out our fishing and give free movement of people to the EU so they allow us to let them use our armed forces and nuclear deterrent . He will also allow EU judges to over rule our judges in certain areas and agree to “dynamic alignment “ with EU laws, in other words, when the EU make a new law or change an old law we automatically follow them without having any say. He will keep doing this until we are back in the EU in all but name. Traitor…… Cheers.
  11. As I told Fuji some years ago, he would have liked her; tremendous stamina, not the fastest, but fast enough, very biddable but hard on some quarry. I tried to have pups from her but she never took. Cheers.
  12. This little girl would have been 48 now. The bitch she is piling old pennies on had saluki in her and was around six at the time. This is the same girl years later at her friends saluki kennels in Abu Dhabi. so, as you can probably see, I don’t need an eighty odd year old man to tell me about Salukis, even though I would probably enjoy the conversation. Cheers.
  13. Just like your school reports; ”Needs to pay more attention”” LOL ! Cheers.
  14. Your sister is 67 and you’re 38 ???? Cheers.
  15. Here we go again ! Forget what you read on Google ! A greyhound is far faster than a saluki, but the saluki has far more stamina. ”A decade my senior” ? I’m almost 73 ! I’ve had running dogs since the 60’s, I’ve had racing whippets, racing greyhounds, I’ve had salukis in their c.o.o. and saluki crosses and most other types of running dogs here and I’ve travelled the world to see and work dogs. Ive allways said I’m never to old to learn, but if you are going to patronise me, telling me a saluki is as fast as a greyhound, and some old man in his mid eighties is going to convi
  16. Salukis and greyhounds were crossed together for an extremely simple reason……to get a coursing dog with the speed of a greyhound and the staying power, stamina of a saluki. The best of the progeny were mated to each other and greyhound and saluki blood was added as and when needed. Of course there was other blood in there, even Bedlington ! But its predominantly saluki and greyhound. Cheers.
  17. No, I wouldn’t say they were the same; similar but not the same. Probably all came from the hunting dogs of the Fertile Crescent, but changed and adapted to the terrain and climate of the particular environment. As they went north into Central Asia they evolved into the heavier coated Tazi, Afghan and even into the Borzoi. Into the west they evolved into the Galgo , Ibizan and some types of Poenco and other types. Theres a school of thought that the north European running/hunting dogs , the so called “Celtic hound” such as the greyhound, deerhound and the original Irish wolfh
  18. Yes, it went both ways, east and west. The running dogs of India and China will have been influenced by the Middle Eastern dogs as well as those of Iberia such as the Ibizan hound . Just out of interest, when talking to Arabs about Salukis, they call them “sloughi’s”. Cheers.
  19. Very narcissistic and egotistical to think it’s about you ! A tad more humility and modesty may be required ! LOL ! Cheers.
  20. You just don’t get it ! Wnning a Racing Championship with a whippet is the pinnacle of whippet racing, and getting the dog ready, at the peak of condition for that once a year event is an achievement in itself. Then to change breeds and win events with Salukis and greyhounds means, to me, that the man knew his stuff and wanted different challenges . Completely different types and events. Cheers.
  21. I never met the owner but I know lads over Carlisle way that said it’s true. Most of us used the non-peds as “dual purpose” dogs back then, racing and hunting. I don’t know one non-ped owner now who would risk their dog by hunting now . Getting their dogs ready for the big races is all they think about now. This one of mine, back in the late 60’s, Blue Prince, (Blue Boy x Zarwood), won plenty races, had no trouble with hares, and took the odd roe. Cheers.
  22. Indian Joe ran at 30lb and won both his titles on greyhound tracks. Very unusual for a non-ped whippet x greyhound dog to be so light, but that’s the whole purpose of non-peds; to breed an animal with the size of a whippet and the speed of a greyhound. Cheers.
  23. Don’t forget, Indian Joe was more than 50% greyhound, and the whippet side was mainly non-ped. Cheers.
  24. Sad thing is that unscrupulous Saudis pretend to be philanthropists and tell Pakistani workers “I’ll pay for your family to come to Mecca to do the Haj.” When the family are about to board the plane in Pakistan, they are told, “oh, by the way, just take this suitcase with you”. If they get through, everyone’s a winner; if they don’t, they get chopped, the Saudi is out a few Riyals ! Moral ? “No such thing as a free dinner” ! Cheers.
