His long game isn’t what it was, but he’s still probably in the top four or five with it. His break building , positioning and safety play is up with the very best. Its his first tournament after 5 months off, so he’s bound to be a bit rusty so it’ll be hard work to win it, but there’s still the fear factor other players have when playing him, so I wouldnt write him off yet. I’m really lucky to have a great pal who must be one of the best veg growers in the country. Every year she brings me a van load of plants, a huge selection of toms, chillis , sweet peppers, cucumbers, courgettes, aubergines, pumpkins, kohl rabi, celery, celeriac and specialised plants like Vietnamese coriander and asparagus peas. All I do is repot or prepare the beds for planting. I grow my own onions, leeks, garlic, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, potatoes green beans and Mangetout. Cheers.

Read back through the thread Scotty mate! I’ve got my invite , he’s got his, I’ve took up every invite I’ve ever had , be that to the Cairngorms or to Ireland or Australia or New Zealand or to the UAE or America . Im an old man now but I know a lot of the Irish lads, not personally, but keep in touch with them on line, so it will be great to meet them and hunt with them . It’s what I do, if mC is more comfortable at home, I’ll not denigrate him for that, he makes me smile, and that’s a compliment ! LOL ! Cheers.

I said a good while ago that I’d seen one knocked down on the A69 very near where I live , also was told they’d been introduced to Kielder Forest, but I’ve lamped all that area for years and only seen one deer that I thought , at the end of the beam , was a munty, They have definitely been recorded south of the Tyne, a natural barrier for the coming into Northumberland, but I hope they do make it ! My brother is in his late 60’s, he’s had lurchers and terriers all his life and has dug some deep holes. He’s a dour old f****r , worse than me, would you believe, but I showed him some foxing, and other , videos, the other day, and he was impressed, to say the least ! Cheers.

Mate, I know you have good coursing dogs, but hares aren’t the be all and end all to most lurcher workers . Ive been to places around the world where the dog men think like you, but also been to places where hares aren’t just a pest, they are a distraction. I love running hares, and roe, but keep a very open, and inquisitive, mind when it comes to all kinds of dogs and hunting, Your coursing dogs may be supreme at what they do, but so are the specialist fox and deer dogs. Well, I’m not a “fox man “ and I’ve never had “fox dogs” ! Ive had a few dogs that could kill foxes but couldn’t be considered “fox dog”. I had a 29 1/2” , 75lb deer/grey that could kill foxes, as has been said, kill foxes in a shake, and so it should, a bitch of that size against a 15lb fox, I’d cull it if it couldn’t, but would it do five or six a night, five or six nights a week ? Probably not! I had a beddy type, 23” and around 38/40 lb that would roar into foxes like a Tasmanian Devil but it was a battle, a war of attrition, she’d win but it was a struggle ! So, th
