New Zealand isn’t a member of NATO . NATO members would probably get involved but not under the auspices of the NATO treaty. Just do some basic research , it’s all there on Google ! LOL ! Cheers,
-
The simple answer is that the NATO treaty is only applicable in the northern hemisphere, north of the Tropic of Cancer. The UK couldn’t invoke Article Five as it didn’t apply . Also , we didn’t need any help. The Argentinians had French Exocet missile before the war and the “fact” that France kept supplying them during the war had been debunked. America offered us the use of one of their aircraft carriers in the event of our Through Deck Cruiser, HMS Invincible, being sunk. Cheers.

I agree, my point is if you ask anyone an obvious question, you’ll get an obvious answer. If you asked British druids if paganism should be the national religion, don’t be surprised by the answer ! Cheers.
-
While the HJS poll is worrying, it shouldn’t be surprising. If you asked Coptic Christians in Egypt if Christianity should be the national religion they would say yes. If you asked Buddhists in Burma if Buddhism should be the national religion they would say yes. If you asked the Uighirs in China if Islam should be the national religion they would say yes. So the poll doesn’t tell us what we don’t already know, the only thing that surprises me is the results weren’t bigger ! Cheers.

GBNews is always on in the background here and I saw the breaking news. Cheers.

Hasn’t he been caught in Aylesbury? Cheers.

The US doesn’t need military backing when it goes to war. They only need the political backing of allies, and they don’t REALLY need that either. It just makes their decision to go to war look more acceptable . Cheers.

Wilson, if he wasn’t made of glass ? Cheers.

Your dads John Rambo ! Cheers.

Purge them in cold fresh water overnight, put them on a barbecue, in the shell and add a spoonful of garlic butter, don’t over cook…..free, easy to cook and delicious ! Cheers.

The missus and I were just talking about this. We remember when high streets had pork butchers, wet fish shops, greengrocers, hardware shops, instead of estate agents , charity shops and fast food outlets…..but we ARE very old though ! LOL ! Cheers.

Tastes change, eel and lamprey were once popular a long time ago, who eats them now ? Monkfish was only good for fake “scampi”, now it’s an expensive gourmet fish ! We used to get “rock salmon” , (dog fish!),in the fish shops, never see it now. Cheers.
-
Is that a euphemism? Cheers.

I’ve got a lot of these, different sizes. There’s an old mine shaft near my allotment where a local hospital, now long gone , dumped their rubbish. Bottle collectors are always digging it up and a lot of the stuff is in good condition. Cheers.

It’s not the banks that confiscate the money, it’s the government. It’s all to do with money laundering. Of course I’ve had discount for cash, but there are times a transaction can only be done by card. Are you seriously saying you never use a card ? How do you pay when you book a holiday, how do you pay for your fuel, do you never buy anything off the internet, Amazon, etc, do you never use an Uber or food delivery services? Some bars I know only take card, when my missus wanted a new phone contract the company would only take card. Whats wrong with using a debit card ?
-
How do they take your money ? When you pay for something by card the vendor pays the fee, not the buyer . Cheers.
-
Cash or card ? I guess it depends on the circumstances. My missus travels more than most and uses one of her cards for paying for travel on everything from long haul flights, trains, buses, taxis , even tuk tuks in Bangkok or horse drawn carriage in New York , simply because the card comes with very good travel insurance. As for cash, she was once pulled up by a customs officer with a cash sniffer dog in Heathrow with $10,000 in her bag, she had a very good reason for having it, so no problem, but if you haven’t got a good reason , the cash is gone ! Some times things are cheape

I’ve never bred a pup in my life. I’ve used a dog or two free of charge at stud. I didn’t insinuate anything, I replied to Wilf who said it was people throwing dogs out of a motor that were keeping the game alive and I suggested that it was old fuckers like me who were still doing it the old way that were actually keeping the lurcher game going. We may disagree, that’s fine, but I think, and it’s just my opinion, that when the likes of me, who have seen the game go downhill over the years, retire, that the lurcher game will actually be f****d ! Who is going to carry on ? Cheers
-
Still not getting it mate ? Who mentioned breeding ? Some of the best dogs I’ve seen have been owned by people I wouldn’t deal with , and some of the best dogs have, usually, been owned by lads that know the game . Thats just life……you soon find out the wasters if your in this game long enough. These days I just do what I want to do, if I need a pup, I know who I can trust, if I want a walk out with someone, it’s my decision, if I make a mistake, that’s my fault….no point in crying about it, just move on. Cheers.
-
I’m honestly not sure what you mean. Stiffy ? I know WHO you mean, but not WHAT you mean. I’ve been out with lads who ran bull types out of a motor after big game, ( just the once) , and it was an experience i’ll never forget, and I’m glad I experienced it, but it wasn’t my game; I’m just a bloke who runs running dogs. Cheers.
-
No, Wilfy mate, it’s not blokes throwing dogs out of car windows that are keeping the lurcher game going, and I think you said that a bit tongue in cheek ! Its old blokes like me who walk the land, day and night, and try not to attract attention who keep it going. Its what we do, nothing more , nothing less. Its what we enjoy…… Cheers.
-
Fair enough, mate. As I said , I hope you have happiness and success in whatever you’re doing. We all have our lives to live, and it’s all different situations. It’s just sad to me, that another lad has to leave the game because of situations beyond his control. Good luck in whatever path you choose. Cheers.
-
Well, I’ve had a long hard think before replying to this thread, but here goes ! I don’t want to upset or argue with anyone, but if lurcher work has been your lifetime sport, I don’t think losing a bit of permission is reason enough to give up the game. I may be wrong, but if you have “ Poacher” in your user name, isn’t it a bit ironic that you are giving up because you’ve lost your permission ? How about travelling if it’s to hot in your area ? How about meeting other people who have permission; I’ve met plenty off here and other sites that didn’t mind me tagging along.

I’m sure you’ll find a way ! LOL ! Cheers.

I’ve never been to a country where I couldn’t get local currency from an ATM and the rates were always comparable to any other means of exchange. A couple of tips, if bartering in Turkey, never pay more than half what they first ask . If you are going to use your card a lot, let your bank know which country you will be in so they don’t put a lock on it for “unusual transactions”. Cheers.
