I think “argument “ covers a range of discussions; from civilised debate to aggressive verbal confrontation. I enjoy the former but avoid the latter. What I dislike is when an argument is being lost and the adversary resorts to “what aboutery “ and moving the goal posts, which is usually the modus operandi on here ! LOL ! Cheers.

I sometimes get a bottle of that from Lidl. As long as you don’t compare it to a high end bourbon its a pleasant enough sipping whiskey or with a splash of cola, ice and lemon or lime . Cheers.

Just think off a 747 cargo aircraft , fully loaded, weighing almost 450 ton, the thrust required to get that in the air is minute compared to a Saturn V thrust. SV India Uniform an aircraft I worked on from new; But I’m afraid we may be physically abusing a deceased equine, as we’ve been through this scenario many times in the past. If someone won’t believe in the moon landings, that’s fine, it’s their opinion or belief, but I’m giving up trying to convince them ! Cheers.

It’s difficult to describe the Van Allen belt in layman’s terms, but it isn’t a uniform sphere surrounding the earth Very, VERY basically, imagine a donut as the belt and a marble sitting in the hole, as the earth. Im not an astrophysicist, so I can only go by what they tell us, but this may give an idea how a spacecraft can get past the Van Allen belt. Cheers.

Correct. Defence contractors were given the report first, then the press and last was MP’s . The Speaker of the House was less than pleased and said Labour may be in breach of Parliamentary standards. One companies share price went up 7% before MP’s were informed. Nothing will happen though, just (shady) business as usual ….. Cheers.

I was reading just the other day that one fault, or faulty sensor, can bring on numerous warning lights, a sort of knock on effect. Problem is finding which one is the actual fault ! Cheers.

Mate, my car passed the mot two days ago, but on the way home the service light came on. I immediately thought it had something to do with the mot test ! When I got home I noticed the odometer had just hit 75,000 miles, so I presumed, not unreasonably, that it wasn’t a fault and it was just informing me a service was due. Anyhow, I looked in the hand book for how to reset the light. It said to put the ignition on , depress the accelerator fully, pump the brakes three times and hold in the button on the end of the indicator wand for 20 seconds. After half an hour of trying this

My simple answer to that Francie, mate, is that I don’t know. Its way above my knowledge and I wouldn’t be stupid enough to pretend I do know . I’m a retired aircraft engineer and I’m still amazed at how an aircraft fully laden with cargo weighing a hundred ton can get off the ground, never mind fly ! I couldn’t explain how radio waves or x-rays work, not my field of expertise or education, but I know all these things work. Nothing rude about sensible debate, mate ! No, but the flight ops could, and there would be, as I said to Tomo , possibly thousands in Mission Control, that was after all operating 24/7. There would be shift handovers, people on stand-by. It beggars belief, for me at least, that so many people could be involved in a conspiracy that was being monitored by many nations around the world, some that would have loved to prove it was a hoax, but didn’t raise a single suspicion. Thing is mate, millions, maybe billions , of people watched the launch of the Saturn V launch vehicle and the re-entry of the command module. If it didn’t go to the moon , where did it go ? It was being monitored by every advanced nation in the world, if it was a hoax surely one of them would have questioned it ? Now, let’s suppose it WAS a hoax, and the Americans got away with it, why, again, pardon the pun, on earth would they risk doing it again FIVE TIMES ??!!! Most people who say it was a hoax don’t even realise there were SIX moon landings and 12 men walked on the moon. I
