An absolutely true story; Many years ago my wife and I were invited to a party at the Golden Eagle Marine bar at the American Embassy in Saudi by our daughters then fiancé who was a gunnery sergeant with the marines. Anyway, a Saudi was pestering my daughter for a dance so she waited for a break in the music and in a very load voice said to him “this is my father and this is my fiancé and if you don’t leave, they WILL hurt you ! Now f**k off ! “ Everyone looked at him and laughed and he beat a hasty retreat. A feisty lady, was my daughter ! Cheers.

She will probably lose her seat She has a very small majority and she is doing herself no favours in the debate that is on right now. Nigel is having great fun, it’s six of them onto one of him but they can’t land a blow ! Cheers.

I don’t think he will make it to November. Its getting really embarrassing now, he looks senile and infirm. I think he will step down due to “I’ll health” but who knows who will take his place. It should be the VP, Kamila Harris, but she can’t beat Trump. There’s been talk of parachuting Michelle Obama in. Interesting times ahead ! Cheers.

I remember the slum clearances of Newcastle in the late 50’s and early 60’s when we were moved from city centre slums that would be viewed with horror these days to a council estate in the suburbs. It was like we had won the lottery, or the pools as it was in those days. Indoor toilets and a bath !! Hot and cold running water, gas heating, green spaces for us kids to play, it was Elysian Fields, Shangrila, Utopia to us. move on a couple of decades and it was one of the worst sink estates in the country; high rise flats full of “problem families, crime, gangs, unemployment. I’ve always had the impression that you are a decent man by reading your posts, so I’m guessing what you have said about putting lighter fluid through a letter box is just rhetoric and hyperbole , brought on by your understandable anger and frustration at the decline we all see in our country, and not something you would honestly encourage. I read it from start to finish because I was told there was a chapter about Borzois coursing wolves, and sure enough, there was. But it’s a very engrossing book. Downloaded it on my Kobo for free; Cheers

Saw a Thai Ridgeback on TV the other day, looked very nice, more “definition “ than the Rhodesians I’ve seen. ( this is just a “file” photo); Wether or not it would add anything to lurcher breeding, well, I don’t know….. Cheers.

They reckon it’s no worse or not as bad as the music festivals. The farmers who rent out the fields don’t do to badly out of it. I remember Typp Ratcher who used to write for Countryman’s Weekly had the contract from the council to tow away all the caravans that were left, he told me he made a decent wage from scrapping them. To be fair, I’ve a few p***y mates and the lad I lamp with is from a traveller family, but at the allotments we get lots of broken into sheds and things stolen the week of Appleby and the week of the “Hoppings” on Newcastle Town Moor. Coincedence ? Cheers.

Voters in the EU are turning right while we have the choice of a centre left Tory party or a left Labour Party. Let’s hope Reform can be the official Opposition party and at least present a viable opposition to Labour. Cheers.
