Where are you ? I’m in Northumberland and my pal who gave me the cucumber plants is about 150 mile south of me and hers are way in front of mine, in fact everything I grow is months behind her stuff. First time I’ve tried to grow Kohl Rabi, it’s a brassica and the edible part is the bulb between the roots and the leaves, supposed to taste like a cross between cabbage and turnip. Cheers. -

In the last few years the battle for hegemony over the Middle East has been between Iran and Saudi Arabia. The war in Yemen is a proxy war with Iran backing the insurgent Houthi and Saudi backing the Yemen Government. Irans proxies in the Middle East , Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthi, etc are hated by “moderate “ Arab nations like Jordan, Saudi, U.A.E., these nations who once backed the destruction of Isreal are now shooting down Iranian missiles heading for Isreal ! C’mon mate ! In the Six Day War alone, Israel defeated the combined militaries of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Iraq. Every war they’ve fought they’ve won ! You’ll say they were backed by America, but the Arabs were backed by just about every Arab nation and supplied by the Russians. Isreal can’t lose a war, it would be the end of them. Iran’s stated aim is the complete destruction of Isreal. As I’ve said before, I’m an “Arabist”, ( not, I hasten to add, an Islamist !), but I think Isreal has the right to exist, a view most Arab nations are now adopting. Cheers.

Yes, but are Israel funding the terrorist groups I mentioned , to bomb Israel , or is it Iran funding them ? Allegiance’s and Allies change over time. Remember when Russia and China were our allies, and Germany and Japan were the enemies. Now the roles are reversed, Cheers.

Consider the alternative; Saddam and Ghaddaffi realising the dream of the “Great Islamic Caliphate”, running from North Africa through the Middle East all the way to Indonesia. Controlling the majority of the worlds oil and gas reserves, controlling the Suez Canal, the Straits of Hormuz and the trade routes to the far east , being able to hold the industrialised West to ransom. Although I’ve never used, or wanted to use gps tracking on my dogs, of course there’s far more to lurcher work than point and slip coursing ! I fully understand the use of gps and thermal imagery, but as someone who works mainly without permission, that’s a lot to invest in if it gets confiscated ! If I worked permission, I would probably think about gps. Cheers.

I used my free tickets and stayed at my daughters in Dubai then flew on to Saudi and stayed at my sons, so it basically cost me very little. My free airline tickets and friends and family around the world have allowed me to go to places I might not otherwise could have done. Got a trip to Ireland planned that I’m very much looking forward to, and going to Saudi where one of the in-laws is planning fishing and hunting trips. My missus had a trip to Finland and I’m very jealous, ice fishing, ptarmigan shooting , dog and reindeer sledding, so I’m hoping to fit that trip in before i
