  1. I was at Wansbeck. (Cambois, Blyth), last sunday for the Whippet Open. It's still going strong for the Greyhounds, trialing every day, and racing a couple of times a week. Cheers. (Cambois, Blyth), along with all the other flapping tracks, should be shut down, causes no end of grief for us officers, due the local half-wit trying to win some beer money. Not so long ago some fooker from wansbeck poured petrol onto a greyhound and set fire to it.Was the worst thing that was posted to our wildlife division. your the biggest halfwit on here, cant find any reference to a greyhoun
  2. As i said, I've had, and have, dogs that have them, and dogs that haven't ! But if it was my choice, I'd rather they didn't have dew claws. BUT ... a man who I know for a fact has been involved in Greyhound and Saluki Coursing for many years firmly believes that dew claws should be left on ! It's a choice we make or don't ! Cheers. Only time a dewclaw can be used for its purpose ( apart from holding bones ) is for a running dog to grip the ground when turning.. I don't believe that, and neither doe's any one who knows dogs ! There is NO purpose for a dew claw in the vast maj

  4. I'm sure the dog isn't run on quarry wearing a harness. The poster allready said it was for when exercising along side a bike. Cheers. I used to be told by some one that harness made dogs broad chested cow hocked,He was a old en but he knew his stuff. When ever i see a pet dog wearing one i always look, and often they are. If a dogs only walked on the leed and not allowed to run free it will What do you mean ?? If a dog is on a harness it will get "broad chested and cow hocked" ?? I don't like harnesses, they give no control over a dog but I'm sure it has no effect on a d

  6. The unfortunate fact is... if some lowlife scumbag wants to steal your dog....... he WILL !! There is nothing you can do to stop it !! The stupid laws today stop you from taking what would be sensible precautions a few years ago ! If you DO stop the lowlife, you will probably be charged with something and get a worse sentance thasn the scumbag !! Just make it as difficult as possible for them, and if you realy love your dogs, be prepared to do something that the "law" will prosecute you for !!! Cheers.
  7. It's a bit of an exageration to say "they will keep injuring them", as I've had dogs with dew claws that NEVER injured them, but, to me it seems the faster types, like Non- Ped Whippets, Grews, etc, seem to injure dew claws much more than "Lurcher" bred types of dog ! Only my oppinion, could be wrong ! Cheers.
  8. Little bit late now, mate. Ther'e usualy taken of at one or two days old; now it would be a vets operation and cost you a fair bit ! I've got dogs that have them and dogs that haven't. I prefer them off, but if they aren't, don't worry to much about it ! Cheers.

Then I'd better get harnesses for my pencil necked, pigeon chested curs then !! LOL !! What a load of crap !! Cheers.

  11. Matching is a load of ++++++ ,as there are far to many variables .Dog A could be as fast as fook .Dog B could be as nimble as fook .Now lets take this scenerio Dog A+B are both running legitimate quarry Dog A runs like fook and turns the quarry into the path of dog B,who catches the quarry .We could have the second scenerio,Dog B runs the quarry ragged into the jaws of Dog A .Now who is the winner of this so called matching??.Many scinetific field reports ,claim that two dogs running on the same quarry hold up to 20%of their ability back, for fear of a collision .Now unless your matchin
  12. I went over to Birr last year, (I judged the Whippet Show), from Newcastle, (a fair owld trip !), and had the best four days at a Lurcher Show/Game Fair that I've ever had ! Over twenty of us stayed in Ballycommon and had the time of our lives !! I fished in the Grand Canal, and was taken out by a local land owner and a farmer to see a few hares ! We had three tremendous nights in the local pub and made freinds with a lot of local lads and lasses ! The Lurcher show itself wasn't the bast I've been to, as far as entries, but it was an experience to see the Game Fowl, Strong Dogs, Lurchers, Terr
  13. I can't believe the dog in the second pic is 24lb heavier than the dog in the first pic ! Did you use the same scales to wheigh him both times ? To put 24lb on a dog in three weeks, (8lb a week !!, seems incredible, what are you feeding it ? All that extra wheight will be fat not muscle, so you will have to turn some of the wheight from fat to muscle before you see any appreciable gain in performance. Good luck with him Cheers.

  17. I'm not disputing that these dogs could do it... but why wern't they matched with the top dogs if they were so good ? Cheers.
  18. I was over in San Antonio, TX,a few years back and was hoping to meet your old mate Dutch, but he had moved on to NM by then, he seemed like a top bloke with the Stags and Salukis ! Cheers.
  19. Whin, get yourself down there, a man could hunt, shoot, fish...to his hearts content, and if you get the right lads, there is no legal problems ! Cheers.
  20. The Deerhound/Greyhound X has ALLWAYS caught the Judges eye at Lurcher Shows; but there does seem to be a bit of a revival in working them going on ! I've got a 1st x bitch, 18 month old and is doing everything expected of her ; Cheers.
  21. Whin, I've been down Oz, and NZ, plenty times, and hunted with some top lads.... but asking them if their dogs take ilegal quarry is a bit daft. Cheers,
  22. The guy's have told you it's ILEGAL all over Australia !! Why would they want to compromise themselves on here ??? Cheers.
  23. If the parents were "Non-Ped" Whippets, the pups could have varied wildly in wheight ! I see some litter mates every week and they vary from 18lb to over 50lb !! Cheers.
  24. How about being a "donator" and putting them up in the "for sale" forum ? Cheers.
  25. Whin; can't you get a mate or someone to write your posts !!! They probably mean something.... if only we could decipher them ! Cheers.
